"Don't let your food get cold, while you looking at somebody elses." This exactly why God emphasizes to never envy others. It's why it's in the Ten Commandments. It isn't there to control you, it's there to give you guidance. Instead of looking at the Ten Commandments as "Here are all the things I HAVE to do, for God to love me." Instead, look at it as "Here is what I gotta follow if I want a virtuous life." Obviously we all broke em though. I did, plenty of times, you reading this did. We all did and that is why God had to send His Only Begotten Son Jesus. Jesus was human like us so He dealt with the struggles of betrayal, judgement, persecution, disaproval, rejection, temptations, but He never fell. He was the only one who did not deserve to recieve God's wrath, but He took it on anyways, for our sake. So that whoever genuinely puts their faith in Jesus, repentant faith. A changing of heart faith. A faith that says "I recognize how great my sins are before a holy and perfect God, I put my faith in You Jesus alone for my salvation. I accept You as my Lord & Savior." That genuine cry out to God is what leads the Holy Spirit to come upon you. In that moment God will forgive every sin you ever commited and grant you everlasting life as a free gift, because that is who God is. He is love and mercy. Yes, He is just, but His mercy is greater. We technically deserve to be seperated from God, as He is too holy to even be in His presence, but He doesn't see us for our sin, but He sees Jesus on the cross when He looks at us. "The devil knows your name, but calls you by your sin. God knows your sin, but decides to call you by name." "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn it, but that the world might be saved by Him." - John 3:16-17 "God made Him, who knew no sin, become sin for us, so that through Him, we may become the righteousness of God." - 2 Corinthians 5:21 "Righteousness is not earned, we don't earn righteousness." - Lecrae Moore We are not saved by turning from our sin. We turn from our sin because we've been saved. Because we've experienced such grace and such love, we turn from our sin. It is out of love and respect for God, not fear. To fear God is to not think that you're gonna go Hell for sinning once after receiving the FREE gift of eternal life. It is a respect for the one who saved you at your lowest. If you've been saved from sin, why you still live in it? You look like a dog who returns to their own vomit, as the Bible describes. That is not to humiliate you, but to help you. It's not saying YOU are stupid for doing so, but your actions are stupid. In fact you are a very smart person, why do such a stupid thing to yourself? So that is the fear of God for a believer. For someone who is not saved, yeah it's realizing that God is holy and one sin means seperation from God. That fear is what drives one to put their faith in the Savior. But for a born again Christian, it means to respect what God's given you. If you do fall short, don't beat yourself up, just because you are saved, does not mean you are perfect. Repent and get back up. Don't look at how great your sin is but at how great God is and let His Light deliever you from your sin. "Walk in the Spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh." - Galations 5:16 "God is Light and in Him is no darkness." - Jesus I pray this encourages you all. If you are not saved but wanna live for Jesus. Just get in your room or wherever it is quiet, or even right now, and call out to God. Recognize how great your sin is, realize that there is nothing you can do to save yourself and switch your faith from yourself to the Savior. If you are not sure if you are saved or not, think about if there was a time where Jesus changed your heart and you were a new creation. Think about your view of sin. Is it "I don't like sin, but I struggle with it." Or is it "I don't really care if I sin or not?" Spend some time thinking about that. If you are saved; born again, but sre struggling with sin, seek after God and His light. Don't look at how great your sin is, but how great God is. Remember the quote "The devil knows your name, but calls you by your sin. God knows your sin, but calls you by name." Don't be discouraged when you sin, just get back up and try again, except try with Holy Spirit this time, He will definitely help. Get in the Word snd let your spirit be filled. And if you need any help, never be ashamed to reach out. Little Boy: "What was the strongest thing you can ever say?" Wise Man: "Help." Asking for help is "refusing to give up" as the man said. Don't be ashamed to ask for help. God loves your desire to wanna do better. He LOVES that. You are enough, you don't need to prove anything to God, but there is always room to go higher than you've been before, just don't let that consume you. "What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, but lose his own soul?" - Jesus So yeah lean on God, and never be discouraged. "The righteous fall seven times and get back up." Seven represents completeness. So even if you fell as many times as the world says is irredeemable, God will always have His arms open to you. Those who are not interested in God, but read this. I appreciate you reading this. I want you to know I don't hate you for jot being interested in God, I was like that as well at some point. I was annoyed at how much my brother and dad talked about God, I was planning to not go to churcy when I was older, but I looked into Jesus and Christianity a bit more and realized there is so much more to it than what my brother and dad showed me of it. I thought if you were Christian you had to have a certain personality that I didn't like. I realized Jesus is for everyone, regardless of the way you are. He is there meeting you where your faith is at. He said that if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can move mountains. He will change you, but not into some person you're not, but into what you were created to be. You were created with a purpose, you aren't just a product of evolution. Even if evolution exists, it doesn't mean God doesn't. Even if you were evolved, God created the apes which eventually evolved into you. He created you in a unique image and used your mom as a vessel to give birth to you. He loves you and cares for you. Please give Him a chance and give Him a good chance. Don't read one page of the Bible, not like it and give up, you're stronger than that. Give Jesus a good try and see if there is something valuable from Him. I'm not gonna force you, but I encourage you to seek Jesus. This isn't a religion, this is about the God of the universe wanting to have a relationship with you. The religion part of Christianity is when people make it about rules and stuff, but that isn't what Jesus came to do, that is just people doing a distortion of what Jesus came to do. You don't have to like Christianity to love Jesus and follow Him. I hate some of the things done by Christians like Residential Schools and hate crimes, but that doesn't stop me from following the King of the universe. Give Him a chance, if He works, great, if He doesn't, that's okay. But I wanna at least give you the offering. God bless you all, Jesus loves you and you were bought at a price.
