The song is a wonderful opening to the album isn't it. I still remember hearing it for the first time when the album came out and I had no idea what to expect. The whole album transported me to another place. (Your Scent) You are the one I miss I love and long for you A longing I cannot bear (An unbearable longing) I'm sending my love on the wind Can you hear the sound of my heart? I pray that it can reach you On a sunny spring day Don't forget the day we will meet again I will wait for you In the dancing spring wind Remembering your scent I love and long for you I will come to you (The rest of the song repeats those verses/chorus)

@@Ruby_Kang Oh my!!! thank you so much for the translation. I kept all the translation that I see you reply, because i find that google translate isn’t always reliable. I like how here it is, “Your scent” and not his scent, the one in other music apps have a gendered translation.
@Ruby_Kang5 күн бұрын
@@windflower8821 Yes, she's addressing a person directly (but from afar without him being there). So it is a personal "your scent" not an objective "his scent." There are different ways of saying "you/your" in Korean depending on who is being addressed. Geudae (pronounced like kuhdae) is a poetic written form of addressing a lover. So it is like saying "you/your" specifically to a lover (boyfriend/girlfriend). It's like saying "my love/darling" directly to someone. It's not a term used as much in real life but is used a lot in written form and especially in songs.

@@Ruby_Kang oh wow, thank you for explaining it to me, i am saving this note too. i saved everything you say/explain about her music <3
@Ruby_Kang5 күн бұрын
@@windflower8821 You will hear geudae used in so many pop songs. The best way to understand the term in context is that it's equivalent to the old English term "thou" but spoken only to a lover. It's a historical poetic written term mostly. People wouldn't use the term 'thou' in everyday life but it can be used often in poems or songs.

Dragon's Domain is one of the most scary sci fi stories ever. As a kid it really stuck with me, still scares me 50 years on.
Maybe if 'blue' is released on blu-ray it will include an extended and more comprehensive documentary, with more behind-the-scenes footage (which I'm assuming exists in the archives) and interviews with the two main stars. Perhaps even a commentary.

"Breakaway" and "The Metamorpth" were the two best episodes of the series. The worst episode was the talking plant life under Friedkin who also killed Star Trek. People keep complaining that Barbara Bains acting was wooden. But I challenge anybody to go through a situation like the one which her character was going through, with her husband having seemingly died prior to the events of Breakaway on top of everything else, and act normal. She probably clammed up and became cold going through all this nightmare. Every person would deal with this differentiy, and this in my mind explains Helena Russell's aloofness.

The song playing at 36:30 is called Lowdown by the punk band "Wire" foolowed by a short piece of the same band called 12XU. It was originally released on the album Live at the Roxy, London WC2 in 1977. A 33 minute album of live bands at the club. And a darn good album too, totally original if you listen to it. @Ruby_KangАй бұрын
I had a wonderful week over at my mum's, thanks. I could do with a new set of headphones myself. Both wires are wearing thin on mine and they're held together with multiple layers of electrical tape! The sound is still good on them, but it's only a matter of time before one of the wires breaks. This is an LP-rip. The early 70s Kim Choo-ja LPs are very rare items and the rips are often made by DJs and collectors in Seoul from the original LPs. Some of the other early-period albums have been remastered in recent years but only as limited edition LPs, usually around 300 copies each and they're extremely expensive secondhand. Those were made specifically for LP collectors. I'm a CD girl at heart and really wish they just released remastered regular CDs on mass for the wider public. I've a horrible feeling though that CDs are going to become obsolete in the years to come.
@mcprevecАй бұрын
@@Ruby_Kang Oh ditto! I am a CD person as well. Mainly cause I still don't have a record player (just checked and it's vinyl not vynil 🙃😉) and I think I will have one soooooooon (trying to influence Mama Christmas). I had to buy bluetooth earbuds because I went through a multitude of electric tape, trying to find the right angle to still make it work, thinking of learning how to spike the wires back and piling a huge graveyard for used, broken and no longer funcioning earphones/headphones. Especially since I love working outside listening to music or podcasts and would often see my portable CD player fly to one side whilst performing (in my eyes) a very elegant dance move 😇😜.
@Ruby_KangАй бұрын
@@mcprevec I like how CDs have a nice clean sound, no pops and crackles. I've never been a fan of LPs because they deteriorate over time and inevitably end up scratchy, which I find distracting. Old original CD releases from the 80s-90s aren't the best quality but I love it when they get remastered for re-issue. I hope more of the old albums get remastered for CD release before CDs become a thing of the past.
@mcprevecАй бұрын
@@Ruby_Kang does that mean you prefer studio versions to live ones?
@Ruby_KangАй бұрын
@@mcprevec Regarding individual songs? I guess that all depends on how good the original studio version is. A studio version is by its very nature the classic recording. Live versions are numerous and varied, some even better than the studio recordings and some not as good. Kim Choo-ja and Lee Sun-hee both have great live albums. One important aspect of studio recordings is that they capture the sound and vibe of the era they were recorded in. For instance, with Sunhee's 80s Jigu recordings, later live versions of those songs are usually better, but the original studio recordings have a potent nostalgic quality that cannot be reproduced. They're like time-capsules. Also, a live album is a mix of songs from different eras, whereas a studio album is a more concentrated, self-contained project. On the whole I prefer studio albums but I love good concerts too. With individual songs though it just depends on which version is best.
