I think their dream of $40,000.00 for a house big enough for the family, with outdoor space is just that....a dream. I bought an apartment in Le Marche, in a small village, close to the sea and mountains....perfect! It also had one of the only outdoor garden spaces in the village. The building is 600 years old. We bought the place for EURO 150,000.00 and have put almost EURO 200,000.00 into the renovation. Yes, it's beautiful and we are very happy here. But I think alot of people think they can get alot for less money without having much work to do on the property. Think again......

Get together with other old people your age whom you totally trust and plan for the future. Identify simple jobs and hobbies you could undertake while at it...
