I can relate this to this sketch as people I have know from the past fit this stereotype to a T. Having worked in the in a street market in the sixties the characters the banter of those times are affectionately remembered.

I had been in Australia for 7 years and got talking to a fellow Brit who had just visited the UK after some years absence. I said I might go back next year for a holiday and see a few old mates . He laughed and said, "Don't bother , the blokes will all be sitting on the same bar stool , driving the same car , but they will have swapped girlfriends and wives." F me , when I went back a few months later, that's exactly what I found .

Yeah, Americans remade this bit. Jim Carrey played Dave and Adam Sandler played Market Guy. There was overacting, shouting, gunplay, and a car chase.

HAhahaha, it's funny because the only places he goes to is the pub or the bookies, but at the end he said he was going to a cafe. The market stall owner was so shocked that he fell over, because Dave went somewhere different for a change. Hilarious!

I also thought it was funny that the market guy hasnt sold a THING!.. nothing has even been touched.. you get the feeling they had the skill to add detail like moving stuff about but just thought it was excessive considering the running joke in this sketch, its like the fact neither of them changed clothes either...
