I do love the foliage! The flowers were almost unnecessary! How lovely to have roses though. At Christmastime, I use foliage and red and white roses to make a table centrepiece. I like the cedar and rosemary added in there too, so pretty and it has a variety of texture. So pretty. I guess if Christmas is already on the way, I better get wreathing and candleholdering! Thanks for the inspiration John! Just lovely. Smells good from here!

Oh I so want to make this! I did learn years ago from a stylist who recommended lighting the candle and the blowing it out right away - because the wicks look much more natural and prettier if they have been lit. So I always go that with candles now when I set them out ☺
@FlowerJoosКүн бұрын
@@phylliscraine that’s a good suggestion - also cutting them shorter before you light them reduces smoke . Sometimes the wick end is quite long and this isn’t needed.

How long do the flowers stay fresh in the oase?
@FlowerJoos4 күн бұрын
@@paulinegroenewoud5654 it really depends on a lot of factors - what type of flowers and what the ambient temperature is - so in a hot summer they won’t last as well as in the cooler seasons. But good flowers, well conditioned before use will be the best for flower life.

When you said this method was not new but something people did in the past with other items, it reminded me of a method I learned during my own florist training. The method involved creating a small round bouquet of asparagus retrofractus which played the role of your floral egg. As you fed your flowers into the 'retro', it provided structure and a base to the bouquet. It was great for soft-stemmed flowers. I love how lush and colourful your bouquet is.
