A couple years ago I stumbled upon a video showing this process, but never tried it. With a little time off work coming up, seems like a good time to give it a go! (And take a step toward veganizing a fave pizza from my hometown.)
@PizzaWithPlants22 сағат бұрын
Thx for watching! It’s so worth it! While it takes a little more planning, it really doesn’t take a ton of “active” time. The addition of the poolish and letting the dough cold ferment for 2 days makes the dough so flavorful and light!
@retrotim5 күн бұрын
Not too hot, not too cold... doesn't say the temperature. How much water or yeast you ask, just guess. Oh, how much flower? No idea... looks like about 1/3 of a bowl. What about that salt, grab a spoon and go to town.
@PizzaWithPlants4 күн бұрын
Sorry for any confusion, all of the measurements for the ingredients are down below in the video description. As for the temperature on the water, we usually have it around 80 to 85° to wake up the yeast. We hope that helps!

Yes!! As a Chicagoan, thank you for making this everyday pie vegan. It’s funny hearing ppl on YT say “tavern style” as in Chicago we just say “the thin crust” or simply “thin”. Cheers!

Can I do more cashew cream in place of vegan cream cheese? Or would it better to do tahini/almond butter?
@PizzaWithPlants24 күн бұрын
I’d add a little more cashew cream maybe around a 1/4 to 1/3 of a cup. Thx for watching!

The algorithm put this video in front of me. And I was actually intrigued to learn about the recipe. But please take this constructive criticism from a fellow vegan (and 30+ year broadcast tech): if you're going to use a background music track, spend some time on your audio mix! In order to hear your whispery voiceover, the music came blasting in... nearly blew my speakers! Music was WAY TOO HIGH overall. Having to ride volume level made taking in your recipe steps painful, difficult, and ultimately uninspiring. Not a good look.
@PizzaWithPlants26 күн бұрын
Hey there! Thank you for your feedback and being willing to share. Admittedly we have only been doing this for around 10 to 11 months and we don’t have the knowledge base you have or many other people. That said, we’re always looking for ways to get better and your feedback will help us do that. Thx again!
@JeffreyCoolwater26 күн бұрын
@@PizzaWithPlants Good on you. Fwiw, I would put the music way in the background. And don't feel the need to raise it every time you stop speaking. A couple other things: I would lose the lengthy preambles and get right to the recipe. You can tell about it, etc. WHILE you're actually doing stuff. I noticed in a few other videos, you don't actually say the spices! The ingredients should be mandatory for viewers who just want quick method ideas without having to read your exact notes. Anyway, good luck. And throw in the moral benefits that Professor Francione teaches. It's critical to shifting the paradigm of use!

Charming! (I also like dirty martinis. I've never tried the fancy big olives; too cheap. I put 7 or 8 manzanilla olives with a half teaspoon of the brine. I also use Gordon's and M*R vermouth and chill the glass; just a thick Waterford old fashioned glass with a lot of thermal mass, which keeps everything chilled). You've tempted me to buy the big garlic olives now.

Thx! Kadee loves her fancy olives. There’d be a revolt in the house if I tried to use anything else! 😂

That's a great version of the Romesco sauce! Here in Catalonia we traditionally have it with a roasted local variety of green onions, so the original dish and sauce it's 100% plant based, as many other original Mediterranean foods. Despite food invented for tourists may not be a good example of that. I also used for pasta, that's less traditional, and the only thing I do is diluted with non-sweetened plant-based milk and add some extra pepper. It's also great with fried and oven potatoes, I just add some spice with it.
