Does horizontal graduation (generally) build more weight vertically because the vertical shape is controlled by overdirection and not cutting line (like with vertical graduation)? From what I understand, heavier vertical shapes are easier to create by using overdirection while softer vertical shapes (round layer, square layer, soft graduation) are easier to create by using the cutting line/finger angle. This is what makes horizontal graduation create heavier shapes (vertically), because it's created using overdirection?

This is one of my favorite videos, I come back to it a lot. I am always growing but I mainly do fades and tapers. The top and sections always bothered me because I only knew a few things and wanted to truly understand sections and different ways to cut. Thank you for the help. One thing I did want to ask though (not a critique) is if in the videos you could explain what the sections do, why we would want to make them, and what sections for when, that would help. I am very grateful though for the video and information I just always wondered about these things more in depth as well!
