Young man, when one lectures, on any topic, please do not read it from a screen. Learn it, embody it, and make it organic so that a personal insight can take root, blossom, and give off fragrant new ideas. ...Just some helpful advice for your future lecturing.

I feel like the fluidity of harry's "archetype" or types is connected to his youth. It's easier for a young person not to feel tied down to a specific set of personality traits as their are in a constant flux to find themselves. Maturation is definitely a very PBL endeavor.

Why isn't the line about "taking them in" straight-forward? They came to apply for a position as sitters, so the painter had to take them in, meaning look them over, so he could judge whether he could use them. To make this judgment he has to take them in, so letting him do that is the most practical thing they could have done. I understand the theory you're attributing to James -- that art transforms reality -- but I don't see every line as part of that argument, and specifically not the line about taking them in.

his kinsman was like a father figure to him , and he hated that idea , because as you can see in the whole story he was a shrewd young handsome man driven by desire, he wanted to be free and you can see loads of evidences on the story like when he went to a poor neighberhood knowing that the kinsman is someone important so why would he go to such a place, also the way he was observing the woman with the scarlet underwear petticoat, besides other aspect . All he wanted is to be Free and self relying
