Nice restoration but dont use the saw with the guard removed its fu**ing dangerous, I nearly took a finger off and that was with a guard. I got distracted for a second after cutting some wood, looked the other way and as the saw came up the guard came back down and saved my finger. It happens when you least expect it, trust me without it that saw will injure someone badly.

Hi Thank you for the video, it is really good, clearly you spent a lot of time and effort to restore this air compressor, with excellent result. Just a couple of comments: 1- It might’ve been easier if you washed the part with petrol or kerosene (we call it whit spirit in the UK), rather than washing powder. Well this is what I would’ve done. 2- I think you have re-installed the white cooling fan back to front. It might worth checking that. However, it is really brilliant video. Thank you.

I would straight up pay someone to do this with my miter saw, as long as it didn't cost as much (or more) than a new one.

Awesome work! I probably would have brushed it with a soft brush and hit it with blasted compressed air first, but it wasn’t really necessary!

You should never hit a bearing with a hammer you create dents in the bearing races that cause the bearing to fail quicker. Proper method would have been to freeze the crank and heat the bearings to make them just slide together…. Beautiful little genny though.

I like that this was done with relatively basic tools! No 3D printer or laser etcher, lots of ingenuity and elbow grease. It didn't seem fake to me (I admit I am no expert) the amount of grease and rust seemed realistic. I'm sure there were things omitted, but I enjoyed it!

I really enjoy watching this but it’s just a cheap brand and it would be easier to just buy another one. I realize you did this for us to enjoy, so I’m not saying it was stupid to rebuild it. Plus now you have a brand new saw.

My sister in law has almost the same genset that I am trying to restore. I already made it running but I am just confused which wire is for the 12volts and which is for the 220 volts. Which one has the higher resistance if I do a resistance check with a multimeter? By the way, it is a nitto 950GF.
