Metropolitan is so clean it looks the most like a classic watch to me, lots to customize the look especially with being able to stretch or compact the numerals and ofc the four complications. Perfect balance of a good look, practical-to-read time, and useful info

Nice video, of course when you have the first time open back headphone the base is literally disappointing, After a certain amount of time, you get used to it, and you start hearing more details that you hadn’t noticed before, too much medbase and the details gone away. I have the sundara and I use them a lot for gaming. Try using open-back headphones for gaming. And when you hear something piercing or something what is not so good in the headphone try to find where is the problem with an equalizer, then you can say you hear something piercing i the 10 to 12khz region.

The thing with good sounding headphones isn't that they are mind blowing, it's that after getting used to them you can't go back to cheaper ones. I had the same experience with mechanical keyboards a number of years ago. You get used to the good stuff, and that's how they get you.

Go listening to the live aid performance of queen on all your gear. You will see the detail difference soon enough. And make sure that the DAC/AMP are also good quality. On Openback headphones like sundara. The sound of a instrument feels way more naturel an real. Like it is really there. ANC is very nice for cutting outside sounds off. But the sound quality gets worse from ANC. Not super much but its less

Very helpful. Did want to point out that ‘softwares’ is not a word. The plural form of software is still software. It’s known as a mass noun which represents a complex thing or something that is difficult to count. Hope that is helpful in future videos.

Get a better amp, powering sundara is no joke. Give it more time. Bass is not less. But the bass escapes like a naturel bass does. The closed ANC stuff makes the bass bounce around way to much. Think about a car outside reffing vs in a tunnel. Sundara does more bass with more details. But openback sound . And listen to music with more details. Like a real band making real music. This music is super clean pc music. And last. Train your ears more. In time you will adapt listening. Be better in hearing differences. If you put alot of suger in your tea every day. Dan no sugger issent that nice. But drink tea without sugger every day and you will taste the tea way better. kinda like that but different. XD

ANC have 0 positive effect on sound quality. Actually its they other way around. But they are handy for closing yourself off from the outside world. And openback vs closeback is also a taste thing. But most people agree that openback sounds better. You need more time and are used to anc stuff.

Reaction bellow is true. If you want the details about the problem with MQA. Check "Goldensound" his channel. The video is called "I published music on Tidal to test MQA - MQA Review". Just use FLAC or wav. Even 16bit 44.1khz is nice. But you can go all the way to 768/32bit. But most high end content is 192khz and 24bit. What is veryt high still. The best digital format is DSD. But you need stuff to work with dsd.

I yesterday got the Arya Stealth Headphones and Moondrop Chu2 IEMS.. The Moondrops blew my pills away the power the loudness the clarity/layering. 20$ the Aryas I thought being 40 times more expensive would be at least 10 times better in first impressions but I thought something was very wrong at first… They were 50percent of the volume. So I opened my Christmas present from my girlfriend which is a Duoo TA 26s Dac amp just to see if it makes a difference and there was a slight difference 😢. I then installed a program on my pc called Equalizer APO and boosted the gain of my PC. Only then did I get more volume but still the bass etc overall pressence were nowhere near the 20$ IEMS… Really disappointing but will keep listening to see if it becomes better

If you want to hear bass in headphones you need to get closed backs, I highly recommend Meze 99's with audiophile heaven's eq on them. Also you probably need to burn in the headphones a bit, some can take up to 100 hours to burn in properly and open up. Keep listening to them eventually you won't be able to go back to cheap earphones as you'll notice way more stuff just takes a while to get used to them.

@@NathanLemoineI did notice that. Playing God is a great choice. Don't forget, it takes time for your ears to adjust to a new headphone as well. So if you listen to one right after the other, your opinions will be skewed. A palet cleanser usually helps, listening to white noise for a minute or two between each test. I've also noticed when you listen to a better sounding headphone than your usual you don't realize it until you go back to your normal setup. Sometimes you'll realize yours is muddy from too much bass, or super laid back with vocals, or not airy feeling/sounding.

Audiophile headphones need some time for you to appreciate the quality. The budget equipment has served you well but has put your expectations of what sounds "great" on a different level. Now your brain and ears will need time to be shown the beauty of high def tuning. Your DAC/AMP is fine. Just take your time, you will get there. And then the whole song and dance will begin again when you upgrade in a year or 2 :)

@NathanLemoine, let me help you out with the definitions. Audiophilia is all about high-fidelity sound reproduction; it has nothing to do with genres per se. It is a way or intent of consciously listening to music. You could be a basshead, listen to metal, or be a technical fetishist, or more esoteric-someone who will believe any snake-oil (and actually feel a difference). Audiophilia is about learning how to experience music. I think melomania is a more specific term for you, which isn’t used quite often. As such, you should see audiophile equipment as an interface that allows you to experience music more consciously. Now, if you’re inexperienced, as many people are, you won’t notice much-oh yeah, mids are clearer, and the bass is not as pronounced... bla... bla... bla. There is such a term as burn-in-it is both technical and not as technical. The gear needs to adapt to the load, and you have to adapt to your gear. Your impression and experience of a song change over time, and after a few months of listening, if you go back, you’ll notice how different it feels and sounds. Next thing, try listening to the music in a different way. What I’ve noticed is that higher-quality gear makes you more immersed. Try listening at different volumes. I’ve noticed that I tend to drive audiophile headphones at much higher volume; the quality of reproduction doesn’t degrade, and it doesn’t actually feel "loud" - it is clearer and more immersive. Music is very polarizing, but audiophiles have a point there too-not every genre is made equal. Some are much easier to spot a difference in than others. Many things are recorded as mush, with bad or generic samples. I wouldn’t describe your taste or style as "unique." This term is legally reserved for people who have music that makes most people go "what the fuck did I just hear?!"-in both good and bad senses. Try some old music, as mentioned in other comments-old Beatles, Bowie, Hendrix, etc. The whole idea was to capture the sound properly. Try classical music-you might be surprised what a different experience it is if you listen to it in high quality with a proper mindset. Try music with a bit more story-movie or gaming music. Usually, they are used not only to set a mood but to tell whole stories. By listening, you learn to read music, just like a book. Hans Zimmer's Dune, or whatever scratches your itch. Portal 2 is a great auditory experience. And then there’s music with a little bit more... intent. This kind of music needs its own set and setting. The rule is-give a song a chance to reveal itself as a whole. You’re here to listen to the music, take it in, whatever it has to offer, so if you start a song, you should let it do its thing without any interruptions. Great examples are The Books or Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith. Here’s a short playlist I use to immerse myself into: open.spotify.com/playlist/1RTrM6hD9luSz1lq5IAFLB?si=oJZcJqCoTfa0ukgeNMA51w have fun exploring.

This keyboard is on my list of things to upgrade to, not only for my current Mac (which is the 2013 ‘Trashcan’), but a new Mac next year (hopefully). I would prefer a keyboard like this with a Shorter key-travel or less pressure because I’ve found that with Apple’s Older Mechanical Keyboards I’ve missed hitting the keys properly too! I already have the Logitech MS3 for Mac on its way to me (from a seller on eBay) so I’m very much looking forward to receiving that because I’ve heard a lot of good things about it!

About Sundaras and volume maxing - USE the remote that came with DX3Pro to turn on High Gain mode. You know what? Don't even test any of those headphones on low gain! Cause it's more like super low gain on this particular dac amp, meant for in-ear phones rather than full sized cans. Redo the test with it.

"I don't know if my music tastes line up with audiophile style headphones". That sentence captures your experience perfectly. Honestly, if you're listening to heavily processed music, vocals and electronic instruments and haven't been exposed to "real" music in real spaces enough to have fixed a standard of expectation in your brain to want equipment that approaches that "reality" why would you ever invest the money in an amplifer/DAC/headphones and interconnects. The bluetooth iPod offerings are going to serve you well. Enjoy them.

I think you should try a big hifiman like Ananda or Arya. These have a very large and wide sound stage and are therefore completely different to in-ear headphones. Then the music is no longer directly at your ear, but around you is a sound bubble several meters wide.

They may not blow ur mind for now but there are a lot of research and actual complex technicalities that goes into these sorts of "audiophile" grade headphones/speakers/iem and audiophile isn't just a silly small hobby but for some it's actually engineering and physics shit about pursuing higher fidelity that I totally didn't get myself into 100% (I accidentally built my own speaker from scratch) also if u actually want to blow ur mind, it's not headphones, it's got to be a good stereo speakers with subwoofers in a good acoustically dampened room and proper speaker calibrations most people won't be amazed with headphones because they've actually listened to what a headphone supposed to sound like so things would already sound expected, a proper speaker setup in the other hand is less common. the lack of bass u mentioned is a preference thing and also the intentional design of the headphone itself. Everyone have different preference in the quantity and quality of the bass that's why they (the audiophile community) now have what is called "preference target" or "preference boundaries" or sumth since everyone have different head, ears and preference figured might be better to just not pursue one "perfect" sound signature but to make a sound that is within those boundaries instead.

I've tried so many headphones since I was in my teens and they do not give me the pleasurable experience in hearing music thru speakers...I now have DACs with headphone amps and still not as natural as hearing music that circulates through the immediate environment...it is like running laps inside a gym instead of running outside with nature.

Consumer headphoness have gotten good enough they are now in the same ballpark as low-fi headphones, but it is a big ballpark. For most people it won't be interesting. I suggest trying some EQ with both the sundara and Aune, it costs nothing. You might find the subbass even with eq is still clean and more detailed than conventional headphones. I find the lowend HIFIMAN's can handle even some slam in the midbass with eq. There are audiophiles who don't EQ and they will likely comment here, but there are some that do and there is an art to it. It can transform a headphone. Beyond that, after owning 20 headphones, I can tell you diminishing returns kicks in after this, BUT, there are some standouts. If you can demo an Sennheiser HD800s, the soundstage may be that truly wow experience you were looking for. Again, it will need eq for bass but it is a fun headphone with that and insanely detailed. For bass slam, a lot of people love Focal headphones, especially their closedbacks, and with eq they can have some truly headrattling slam with the right music. For instrument timbre, however, you have to look at the HD600 or ZMF if you are into acoustic instruments and jazz. Enjoy the ride!
