Is this the first time a poet laureate has become a song lyricist ?. Beautiful song and Katherine's voice is remarkable.

Absolutely agree, Katherine's interpretation of this Simon Armitage poem is stunning, but their working relationship is not new - this song is their second outing. Their first is called 'Close Season'. Worth checking out 👍🎶

A lovely composition that builds to something even lovelier. I was getting some Cruise/Badalamenti vibes from the penultimate stanza. Absolutely beautiful.
@KatherinePriddyOfficialКүн бұрын
Ahh thanks so much. Badalamenti was a big inspiration for this track - especially the baritone guitar, a la Twin Peaks!

I CAN'T GIVE ENOUGH LIKES FOR THIS SONG!!!! This is incredible ... I only discovered Katherine Priddy yesterday, now wondering why have I been sleeping under a rock all this time? Truly one of the most soulful songs I've ever heard.

Katherine you are a true poet as well as an outstanding singer and songwriter. You can simply read your words and they work perfectly, moving, insightful and touching. I attempt 'First House on the Left' and 'These Words of Mine', both so beautiful. Would you like to hear them from me... I do believe I respect them, and you!
