I think this would probably be what Mozart did. Finishing like Muller attempted, was denying coherence to the piece. Finishing staying in the second mood of the piece, would have left this piece forever incomplete

That's true. The pattern is B A C A D A E A F A G A. For every two melodies, the first is new, the second is the same - for all 6 of the new melodies.
