Does your country not tend to believe that only Deaf teach the Deaf language? In the USA hearing are considered rude to try & teach our language as a hearing person. Hearing have all the opportunity. Why steal a Deaf job?

Just came across your channel and my 6 year old absolutely loved that she could follow along. My partner was born hard of hearing and sometimes communication between him and my 6 year old is difficult in the mornings before he puts his hearing aids in or when he’s having hearing breaks. We both look forward to watching more of your videos and being able to use them in our household to make things a lot easier for my partner.

May I ask what hand is dominant? You seem to be leading with your left hand, but that feels strange to me?

I know I'm 5 years late, but I have a question I'm autistic, and I go nonverbal sometimes and using an AAC is inconvenient for me, am I still able to use auslan, even though I am hearing?

Thank you for explaining things so patiently. I like that you break each sentence down into each sign and then run them together a couple of times. Saves me needed to keep rewinding!!!!

Video with reverse insert so we can see what sign looks like from our view would help. Still great video. Thanks. I am 73 and need all the help I can get. I am Santa at Christmas.

For a number of years I have been Santa at Christmas for many groups in my regional community. This year I will be visiting young and old people who are physically and mentally challenged. At 73, I hope 5 months will give me enough time to learn the basics.

Hi! My name is a word that has a sign, is it ok to use that sign to introduce myself or would it be more appropriate to fingerspell it since it wasn't given to me? Thanks!

This is such a fun language! I've tried learning various foreign languages but I struggle enough with speaking in my native tongue. I wouldn't exactly say that I have a speech impediment, but speaking for me just doesn't flow well and I've often wished I could express everything through an interpretive dance. This is a very happy medium! Also, I'm very sensitive to noises, so the less sound the better! Thank you so much for sharing <3

Abbey, your strength is your experience learning Auslan growing up to sign with your dad. You are so easy to listen to, and it is easy to understand your instructions. You are very relatable. Truly, you will make a good teacher on KZbin or in a classroom. Just want to thank you.

Hi Abbey, I'm so glad I stumbled upon your videos. I learnt so much in just a few videos, hope you keep them coming. I'm partially deaf and hoping to become fluent in Auslan sometime in the future, so I can teach my kids too ❤

I think that will happen to me too. But I've wanted to learn singing/ Auslan since 1978...what a fool for listening to ppl that can speak hear & see... does anyone want to meet up to practice at a café out West?

thanks so much for these! they're so insightful and helpful. I would love to learn more about likes/dislikes, and things like consent ('stop', 'do want', 'don't want', etc). I talk to a lot of children and that sort of stuff is great to teach.

I am so glad i found your videos but youve been inactive for 2 years. Your the best at explaining auslan. Im trying to learn to teach my baby as a way of communication before he can talk as well as growing up learning auslan at the same time as english. I wish you could do some more videos?

Hi Abbey, I'm just starting out in AUSLAN and would like to ask you what would be the most important and crucial survival phrases/words to learn first. As an English teacher, I would tend to learn 3 verbs, 3 nouns, 3 adjectives and 1-2 phrases per week. Granted that I am learning a totally new language now (AUSLAN) , what would be your suggestion?

my nick name is bold, you can write it in sign all at once like the 'blood' gang sign. i think im the exeception to the deaf people pick my sign name, thanks for the videos though. My mates kid is non verbal but tbh this is something i just wanted to learn for the hell of it so thanks.
