THE DANGER OF NOT KNOWING GOD The people of a village want to hold a feast. They plan to slaughter four buffaloes. The problem is, the buffaloes are released to live wildly in the forest. Hundreds live in the forest. In short, just entering the forest will keep coming across buffalo. They agreed to deploy four young men who were taught to use rifles with blank bullets to get the buffaloes. These four young men were given only twenty-four hours. Whoever succeeds in taming the buffalo first, will get a special prize. Youth A took the rifle and continued to go somewhere in a situation where he did not even know what animal the villagers wanted, where it was located and what its characteristics were and what characteristics were impossible for a buffalo. Can he bring home the intended buffalo? 99.99% sure he won't get buffalo because he doesn't even know what animal the villagers mean. After walking for a day and a night, he noticed, "Eh, what kind of animal did the villager tell me to shoot?" . His friend... Youth B knows that the villagers want an animal called a buffalo and he knows that the animal lives wild in the forest. The problem is, he has never seen, never known and never learned what a buffalo looks like and its characteristics. All he knows is that there is an animal called a buffalo and that animal lives in the forest. That's it. Is it possible that he will be able to shoot a buffalo? Most likely not. This is because he never knew what the buffalo was like. It is possible that he will shoot jungle fowl, pythons, deer, monkeys, pigs and so on that he thinks are buffaloes. This is knowledge at the level of KNOWING. . Youth C, although he has never seen a buffalo, he has learned about the characteristics of a buffalo. He knew that the buffalo was four-legged, had a bellowing voice, could hear and have ears, had horns, was usually gray in color, liked to wallow, had a big body, was shaped like a cow, could see and had big eyes, had a tail and so on. He also knew the impossible qualities of a buffalo, which is impossible for the buffalo to look like a cat, impossible to speak like a human, impossible to fly, impossible to climb a tree, impossible to stand on one leg and so on. How? Is it possible that Youth C will get a buffalo? Yes, of course. Most likely he will shoot buffalo instead of other animals. This is the science of KNOWLEDGE ranking. . Youth D has 'witnessed' buffalo since childhood. He himself defended several buffaloes in his house. Every day he 'interacts' with his buffaloes. Bathed, brushed, ridden in the rice fields, treated if there was an illness or injury, hugged and so on. Let him know about the affairs of God's servant named the buffalo. How? Is it possible that he found a buffalo in the forest? Definitely! Sure if there aren't any other glitches. right? This is knowledge at the level of UNDERSTANDING or WITNESSING. . In short: Youth A must not be able to get a buffalo. Young man B most likely will not get a buffalo. Young man C is likely to get a buffalo. Youth D will definitely get a buffalo. We want to use this example to understand how important it is to know God, know God and understand God. Youth Alif does not know what 'God' is, does not even know that God exists. Did he worship God during this day? Surely he does not worship God or even worship anything, because he does not even know that God exists. Until any time he will not find God. Just like Youth A earlier. Until any time he will not get a buffalo unless he learns about the buffalo or witnesses the appearance of a buffalo himself. This is the risk faced by those who never know about God, never study religion because they never KNOW, KNOW and UNDERSTAND God. Ba youth also knows that God exists and God's name is Allah. That's all he knows. He does not even know the attributes of God and does not know the attributes that are impossible for God. Did B worship God during this day? Not necessarily! There is a possibility that he worships other than Allah whom he thinks is God. The fate is the same as that of Youth B earlier who may have been shot by a jungle fowl, python, deer, monkey, pig and so on that he thought were buffalo. This is what we fear! This is the risk faced by those who study as far as Tawhid Rubbubiyyah and Tawhid Uluhiyyah only. They only know 'God exists' and 'The real God is Allah'. That's it. They do not know what are the attributes of God and what attributes are impossible for Him, in short they do not learn the 20 Attributes or knowledge equivalent to it. There is a possibility that they will worship other than Allah, either worshiping creatures or worshiping God who is mixed or allied with creatures. In short, it could be that they don't believe in Allah... this is what makes their monotheism broken. This is because they DON'T KNOW and DON'T UNDERSTAND God, they only KNOW God. Youth Ta knows that God exists and God's name is Allah, just like Youth Ba. In addition, he also learned and understood what God is like. He knows what attributes belong to God and what attributes are impossible for God. In short, he studied and completed the knowledge of Sifat 20 or its equivalent. Did he worship Allah during this day? Yes, most likely he worships Allah, the true God. There is very little risk for him to worship other than Allah. Just like Youth C earlier. It is almost impossible that Youth C will be shot other than a buffalo. It is almost impossible for Ta Pemuda to worship other than Allah, either worshiping creatures or worshiping God who is allied with creatures. This type of person is those who have mastered the knowledge of Sifat 20 or its equivalent. In short, the tawhid of people who master the 20 Traits is safer than the tawhid of those who only learn the Tawhid of Uluhiyyah. This is because they already KNOW and KNOW God, but may not have WITNESSED (UNDERSTANDED) it yet. Tha Pemuda is an 'expert' in mysticism and knowledge of reality. He 'witnesses' God himself. Did he worship Allah during this day? Definitely! Is it possible that he worships other than Allah? Impossible! It's just like it's impossible for Youth D to misfire other than a buffalo. Every day he hangs out with buffalo, it is impossible that he will deliberately shoot squirrels, bears, beetles, scorpions, hedgehogs and so on that he thinks are buffalo. This type of people are those who have mastered the knowledge of reality (we do not mean the misguided knowledge of reality). They KNOW, KNOW and UNDERSTAND (witness) God. This is the safest level. Allahu'alam... It is hoped that once we are clear about this, we can both deepen it further by finding the right teachers and reading good books. Greetings - zulsegamat .

THE MEANING OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF TAUHID We come to the definition or definition of the science of monotheism. What is the science of monotheism? There are many definitions made by scholars. Some call it Ilmu Kalam, some call it Ilmu Usuluddin, some call it Ilmu Aqa'idul Iman and so on. The problem is... which one is easier for common people like us to understand? So I formulated a definition that I think is easiest for us to understand which is… Knowledge of monotheism is knowledge to know, knowledge to know and knowledge to understand God. "Make it easy, don't make it difficult". What is the science of monotheism? Knowledge to know, know and understand God. That is the science of monotheism. Why must we learn monotheism? So that we can know, understand and know God. What is the purpose of studying the science of monotheism? The purpose is for us to know God, know God, understand God. What will happen if we don't study the science of monotheism? Most likely we do not know God, do not know God and do not understand God. What is the risk if we do not know, do not know and do not understand God? The risk - there is a high possibility that all our acts of worship will not be accepted by God. This happened because we worshiped wrongly! Wrong worship, our worship is in vain. "How many people stand (doing prayer while) from that prayer (they get) only tiredness and weariness." (An-Nasa'i & Ahmad) "How many people fast (while) from their fasting (they get) only hunger and thirst." (An-Nasa'i & Ibnu Majah) . DIFFERENCE BETWEEN KNOW, KNOW AND UNDERSTAND What is the difference between 'know God', 'know God' and 'understand God'? First we have to understand the meaning of know, know and understand first. All three are different. Knowing is higher than knowing, and understanding is higher than knowing. The most important thing is to understand, then to know and then to know. Usually called the science of yaqin, ainul yaqin and haqqul yaqin. There are also those who add one more level, namely kamal yaqin. . First example… A tourist from the West who came to Malaysia was told about anchovy sauce. Before this he had never even heard of a dish called 'sambal sauteed anchovies'. When he was told, that was the first time he KNEW there was a dish called 'sambal tumis ikan bilis'. This level of knowledge is called TAHU level knowledge or YAQIN KNOWLEDGE - know the story but have never seen and never felt. Then the tourist is invited to have lunch according to Malay dishes. In the dish there is sambal stir-fried anchovies. The local people showed him, "This is sambal tumis ikan anvil". That was the first time the tourist saw anchovy sauce. He saw it as a kind of gravy dish, red in color and with small fish in it. This level of knowledge is called KENAL level knowledge or AINUL YAQIN - know the story and have seen but not yet felt. Next, the tourist is welcome to taste the dish with sambal stir-fried anchovies. Only then do you feel the spicy, sweet, salty, fat, sour and other flavors of the anchovy stir-fried sambal. That's the real sambal saute. Right now the knowledge is at the level of UNDERSTANDING or called HAQQUL YAQIN - already know the story, already witnessed and already felt / tasted / experienced. . The second example… Some people came to tell us that there were fallen trees across the road. We only know there is a fallen tree from their story and we haven't seen the fallen tree yet. This level of knowledge is KNOWLEDGE or YAQIN level knowledge only. Then we went to see the fallen tree. It is true that there is a big tree fallen across the road, we saw it with our own eyes. Knowledge at this level is KNOWLEDGE or AINUL YAQIN level knowledge only, having seen but not yet knowing about the matter of the tree falling. Then we research about the fallen tree until we understand how it can fall, when it falls, what caused it to fall, what are the consequences of it falling, did it really fall and others. Currently our knowledge is at the level of FAHAM or HAQQUL YAQIN. . Third example… The companions preached as far as China. They introduced God to the Chinese - "Our God is only one, Allah". There are Chinese people who believe. At this time their faith is only at the level of KNOWING or YAQIN KNOWLEDGE. They just know "Who" should be worshipped, but they don't yet know how the Worshiped One is doing. People who study the knowledge of Tauhid Uluhiyyah and Tauhid Rubbubiyyah only usually only reach this level. Then the Chinese people studied until they knew the state of the Worshipful One. They know that God exists from the beginning, cannot die, is not affected by color, space, direction, shape and place, dominates everything, is not the same as creatures, creates heaven and hell, creates all creatures, gives revelations and so on. They also know the impossible attributes of God. This level of faith is the level of KNOWING or AINUL YAQIN. Through their studies or learning, they have witnessed the evidence of the Worshipful One but have not yet 'WITNESSED' the Worshipful One himself. This stage is called FAHAM or HAQQUL YAQIN. (* The word 'WITNESS' mentioned in the verse above is a Sufi term that cannot be described with words. It is not the same as the word 'witness' as we usually use it. Please be aware and pay attention to this). People who study Tawhid Sifat 20 will usually reach this stage. At the next level, those who are gifted with the ability by God can also 'WITNESS' God, or 'SEE THE FACE OF GOD' or 'FEEL ITSELF' God. This is what is said to believe in Allah up to the level of Haqqul Yaqin. (* The capitalized words are Sufi terms that cannot be explained with words but with understanding. The meaning of those words is not the same as the meaning of the words we usually use. Remember... let's not misunderstand saying this is misguided because we are trying to worship God ). People who study mysticism or the science of reality CAN reach this level. That's why there is an expression that reads: Scholars of kalam find God by thinking. Scholars of jurisprudence find God by studying the arguments of the Qur'an. And mystics meet God by 'FEELING ITSELF'. Which is the best? The best is the one who goes through the three paths and masters the three sciences. So, with this simple yet weak explanation, hopefully I can make the readers understand the difference between know, know and understand. Next, the reader can understand the difference between the knowledge of yaqin, ainul yaqin and haqqul yaqin. .

SECOND INTRODUCTION There are three main sciences in Islam, namely: 1. The science of monotheism, 2. Jurisprudence, and 3. Mystical knowledge. In short, tauhid-fiqh-tasawuf. Each of them has several other names. For example, some people call these sciences kalam science, sharia science and moral science. Many names but actually tell the same thing. So, we don't need to discuss names or terms, it will be a waste of time. These three sciences cannot be separated. Everyone must strive to learn and understand all three as much as possible. We cannot 'take two minus one'. We also certainly cannot 'take one minus two'. All three are like furnace stones used to line the cauldron. Can the cauldron be placed on only two stoves? The answer is 'can't', or more precisely 'almost impossible'. If one furnace? You can't! The crater will overturn. The same is the case with shooting the enemy. To shoot the enemy with a rifle, there must be three main things: the shooter (human), the rifle and the ammunition. If there is none of the above, the behavior of 'shooting the enemy' will not happen. There are people with guns but no bullets. Can you shoot? Can't. There are people, there are bullets, there are no guns. Can you shoot? Can't either. There are guns and bullets but no people. Can you shoot? Can't either. All three must be present to enable the behavior of 'shooting the enemy' to occur. But people are smart now. He said 'there are bullets and guns but no human being' can shoot. How? We program the gun using a computer. When the computer successfully detects an intruder, the gun will automatically find the target and fire a bullet! It's true, but we have to ask again - who programmed the computer? Aren't humans too? So, all three must be present before the gun can shoot. . Let's give another example, so that you can understand. To feed food to the mouth, there must be at least three main things. One- food. Two-handed. Three- mouth. Let's say there is food with hands, but no mouth. How? Where do you want the food to go? If the food is directed to the armpit, it is not called a bribe. If the food is directed to the center, it is also not called a bribe. If the food is stuffed into the ear, do we call it 'bribe'? Isn't it? It is called 'suap' when the food is directed to the mouth. In addition, it is not called 'bribe'. OK? Good. There is food in the mouth but no hands. Can you not 'bribe'? Can't. There are hands and mouths... there is no food. Is that a 'bribe'? Not really. In conclusion, to 'bribe'... there must be all three at once, namely food, hands and mouth. Tawheed is knowing, knowing and understanding God. Fiqh is the ways of serving or worshiping God. Tasawuf, on the other hand, is the purification of tawhid and fiqh earlier, to blend and beautify the combination of tawhid and fiqh. . For example - people want to fish. Before we go fishing we have to know, recognize and understand which nets and which places have fish. Let's not bring a hoe or a fishing rod or a gun to catch fish. Or we go fishing in the swimming pool, kolah bathroom, buffalo tank and so on. For that we have to learn which nets and where there are fish that can be caught. This is tauhid or usuluddin. It is also called the science of usul in religion. Once we know what a net is and where there are fish, there must be WAYS to catch fish using a net. These methods are what we call fiqh or shariat. We also learn how to fish. There are people who throw nets with oval shaped flowers. Some are not developed. Some are in the shape of the letter eight. There are beautiful round flowers. With that, you have to learn purification to beautify the mesh again. This is called mysticism. When these three skills are studied and mastered, then you can get fish, then it is easy to get fish. .
