High praise indeed! I think I know what you mean, I did quite a severe cut at 250Hz, because the guitar was a bit boomy there. It's a product of using only one mic, it seems to produce bright high mids, I think it's that.

@@eleusismusic Thanks I've gotten into using dynamic EQ to control the low end. I went for a super cardioid pattern on the mic to get a tight sound.

Cool unit! It's amazing how many recording options are available these days. I had to save up for months and months to buy my first Tascam 4-track back in the '90s.

@@eleusismusic One thing to add though is the signal is not balanced. I use it outdoors with everything off a battery so it's fine for me, but if you were to plug it into a console it would give off a mahoosive hum.
