The majority of a dishwasher cleaning process is high pressure water focused. The soap which is added acts as a bonding agent to assist with removal of food residue from dishes.

The comparison to hand washing is dumb. There is always a pot or bowl, rinse it out and use it for soap and water to wash all the dishes. Don't leave the water running all the time. You're welcome.

U shud have also noted the amount of water it use in one complete cycle.

Well,, personally I wouldn't trust any machine to wash my dishes, due to hygiene reasons,, but I already have a super expensive dishwasher,, It's my Wife. Thank you.

U literally left the water running as u cleaned the cutlery with soap and then u dare say that the dishwater uses less water????? Like u don't even know how to wash dishes.

Yeah, I'd still rather wash by hand. I use just about the same amount of water, but I can wash more dishes in less time. It's all about maximizing water coverage (spray vs stream) to soak dried plates, and soaping up all your dishes in one go, then rinsing all your dishes in one go. And using the least amount of water pressure to get the job done. It's a great way to zone out for a little while. And it teaches the kids to appreciate washing their own dishes right after eating, instead of just grabbing a new one and letting the food dry.

That's an awfully large amount of buttons to push to get it started. Hand washing may still be quicker 😂👍🇨🇦

GopherDope wants to see what happens inside the dishwasher: he buys and destroys new product, invests work and money, installs camera and makes a video. Me 10 years ago: went to Husqvarna Museum in Sweden, saw original transparent dishwasher, said "cool" and have not taken even a single photo of it 😁

Many thanks for this very clear and educative vid. Congrats! Two questions : - how many liters of water (instead of costs) ref. the battle dishwasher vs hand dishwashing? - when talking about hand dishwashing you quote electricity expenses: what are they? Thank you

Washing by hand takes less time and less water. The method of washing by hand in this video is wasting water yes by letting it run.

where I live, we handwash and it saves alot of water. we do not keep the tap running while sponging. there is a way of doing it to minimise water wastage. And yes, wear gloves to protect your hands from the harsh chemicals. If you have very little dishes to wash, its more hygienic to wash them up by hand manually instead of keeping dirty dishes in the dishwasher till its full load. And it does not take a long time even to wash a full load by hand. Very therapeutic in fact for some people and satisfying 😊

Excellent video. You answered a lot of questions I had floating around in my brain. One issue I had is that when I wash dishes by hand, I turn the water off while scrubbing the dishes. It looks like you kept the water running the whole time. Is the dishwasher still using less water if you turn off the water when scrubbing???

How can we compromise this much water just for the sake of comfort! These technologies and excessive use of resources will one day make us helpless.

No jokes if they built a see through dishwasher I would be tempted to buy it. I think you might have started a trend as it looks so futuristic. Plus you can see how well your tableware is doing and it could be easier to diagnose issues. But i draw the line at shoes and hairbrushes in there lol 😅 x

Wonderful video. By the way, you can use much less water hand-washing if you use a couple of tubs of water. Scrape the remaining food off, washing the first tub, rinse in the second. If you do that, hand-washing wins. I do like my dishwasher though.

no one should be washing dishes with a constant flow of water...u spray down everything to get it wet. then i start scrubbing with soap. once everything is soapy u can spray it to wash off the soap. soap scrubbing and rinsing with a constant flow is gonna waste so much water
