I catch a lot of fish on the easy shiner sight flash. i use the 2 inchers to catch trout, crappie, bluegill and potentially some baby smallmouth bass. just reel it at a snails pace and they bite it
@MudSharkZ10 күн бұрын
Yeah, I've fished alot of different swim baits and I think the easy shiners have the best action. Like you said, you can work them slow and the tail still kicks. Thanks for watching 👊

What time of year is the technique the most successful?
@MudSharkZАй бұрын
On the western end, once the jig bite dies off (usually may) until the fish thin out in the fall. Basically all summer it's very effective. I was born and raised in Maumee. I live in NY now, but my hearts still on the muddy maumee.

Great video man. Those paddle tail swim baits are lethal for those post spawn browns. A different way to catch fish other than jerk baits or spawn bags. Loved it.

Thanks for the video! Just a quick question, you use 22" for your length, does this apply to all size flashers? I was taught 3 times the length of the flasher, so an 8" flasher would be 24" for the fly length and an 11" flasher would be 33" for the fly. Any insight into this would be appreciated, tight lines from Port Credit, Lake Ontario.
@MudSharkZ3 ай бұрын
The 3X rule makes sense to me because a larger paddle will have a wider rotation. I always run the smaller paddles (mostly spin doctors) so that's probably why 22" has always worked well for me.

That Duo Realis 85F is my go-to nowadays. Super versatile, fishes great from the skinny water down to three or four feet depending how you hold your rod. Strong split rings and the hooks are beastly. They are tough to find though, I've ordered some of them right from Japan.

For your divers what size and how much line did you have to let out beyond your 12 ft leader
@MudSharkZ4 ай бұрын

@MudSharkZ4 ай бұрын
@@jaredballen8205 Yeah the chinook divers dive different from the dipsys. They ones I have don't seem to dive as deep so you would have to turn yours out and adjust a bit. When doing this shallow water fishing, it seems like letting them out until you just can't see them any more works well.

I have fished out of sodus past 3 yrs but have been beaten to hell by ruthless wind. I am looking at the rochester orchard area since it seems to be more upfront lake access instead of that monster bay travel to access the lake. Do you see any difference in the wave sizes near rochester to oak?
@MudSharkZ4 ай бұрын
No, not really. I fish both areas quite a bit. You just have to watch the wind forecast and pick your days. Plenty of days though, especially in the summer, when it's easily fishable in the small boat. One advantage to being further west is the depth drops off more quickly so you don't have to run as far to get deep.

I have another video where I show the details of my rig (link below). They do seem to congregate more in certain areas, not sure why though, probably a combination of depth, current, food availability, etc. I just drown some baits and see what happens, then move along if nothing happens. You can definitely catch them during the day, but I generally surf fish in areas that are popular for swimming, so I mostly shark at night to not freak everyone out. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKDcoaJ3d5V4r8k
