i just realized how poorly netero uses his brain here,,, he couldve made sort of a deal with Muruem by threatening to kill Komugi on that spot after seeing how important Komugi is to Muruem. I don't like many things about HxH, like how an aura-like Nen later turned into offbrand Stands, or the amount of plot armor Gon gon through in last arc, but Meruem and Komugi's relationship always simultaneously warmed and chilled my heart.

His rebirth after pre-rose turned his aura into pure white, it flows gently and spikes when it amplifies, it resembles a lot like Gon. Meanwhile, when Gon traded all his life force, soul, potential and energy into pure nen. Gon's aura turned into jet black. Gon's presence was so sinister it puts a chill down pitous knickers, kind of like Meruem's aura pre-rose. At the end of chimera-ant arc, he chose to play white shogi pieces instead of black like he used to. Ironic how even after he saw how low humanity get, he still only saw the good side in Komugi. It's also interesting why most chimera-ants consists of murderers and psychopaths. Since "good" chimera like Colt and Meloeron often chose to harvest in quality than quantity. It made logical sense as to why the chimera-ants were run down by low grade NGL combatants. Since the queen never refused any form of nutrition, most soldiers could never get their hands on quality "rare meats." But since the NGL were sprawling all over the place, psychopaths and murderers were made available.
