Haha, thanks. I've raced the nc for a couple years. In the past, the rules stated that you could deduct 75 points from the value of your car if you use an automatic transmission. So I did some testing with the automatic that comes in the nc. Tested a a track (Sebring)that we race at a couple times a year. It was a viable option to get some extra points but now they have changed that rule so no sense undoing my previous success with the 5 speed

Can you forward the link to the fuel pressure regulator?
@AverageJoesracingteamАй бұрын
@martinrico6326 i don't have any link to it. The oem regulator is on the end of the return line connected to the pump assembly in the tank. Simply tilt the bed up (using a long 4x4 to hold the front of the bed up), remove the pump assembly, snip off the regulator, reinstall the pump assembly, then drop the bed . As for the regulator/T or really it looks like an H up by the mechanical pump, I believe it can be seen in the video. It's simply a couple of brass T's fittings that are connected together in the shape of an H. The first T has the feed line coming from tank on the inlet, then a line leaving the other side of that T going to the mechanical pump. Then, the return line from the mechanical pump connected on the opposite T ( that forms the H shape) . Finally, a line leaving that T , going back to the tank. Naturally, both of the T's are connected in the center with short piece of hose ( that is the line that make them into the shape of an H). That line allows the excess pressure from the feed side to simply be bypassed straight back to the return side

Good morning! If you cut a strip of construction paper,like in school, and use it to line the wall of the centrifuge, it’ll trap all the debris and make cleaning it out easier. Love your setup! 3600 rpm juicer creates roughly 1400 G’s of force.

@KelRay1 thanks. I've been doing this for a few years nad now have a 7.3 bus and 6.0 truck that need higger volume so I ended up buying a wvo design centrifuge

Great setup! Not a crazy idea! Us old guys have been doing this shit for decades now. I can give you some tips, been there, done that. First is getting yourself a couple cone bottom settling tanks on metal stands. All your junk will go to the bottom and can be easily flushed out a lot better. Second, pump your oil from the top down, not from near the bottom of the settling tank. Float your fuel line "input" on a wood board or piece of foam, with the end hanging down in the middle an inch or 2. All your cleanest oil is at the top! You will hardly even need the inline filter before feeding your centrifuge. As far as heating your oil with pure solar, it is totally do-able. First is black settling tanks with glass window tops to trap natural sun heat. You can ALSO use solar panels to directly run normal 120v water heater elements to heat your fluids anywhere in your process. You can run elements direct DC if you impedance match, or easily run AC if using a small inverter system. You can run elements at night too if you have them directly off your battery banks and inverter. Used panels are cheap now! Don't be afraid of cracked or damaged ones either if the price is right. I run (8) 545 watt panels (20 Dollars each) that were rejected by a large industrial solar farm because they were cracked. I just run them as is, and they still work great! Have fun and drive them old Jettas and Rabbits through the next apocalypse!!

Crank no start have fuel and spark, isn't top dead center and all timing is aligning with marks. Tried new cam sensor no crank. But no rpms when cranking

This is really cool. I'm planning on moving over seas for retirement in about a year. They have tons of older diesel powered vehicles there that don't require the ULSD. I'd like to get one and experiment with making black diesel. It's a challenge to find western equipment and supplies there. I searched all of my online resources looking for a centrifuge with no luck. A juicer however, that I was able to find easily. 👍😊

Does that stuff work with waste cooking oil ?
@AverageJoesracingteam9 ай бұрын
I haven't tried cooking oil. I would imagine it works the same. Cooking oil is thicker, so you'd want to heat it or thin it before sending it thru to help separate the junk out
@vfbrs23829 ай бұрын
@@AverageJoesracingteam you can make it thinner by removing the glycerin ( which has uses of its own). You can do that by mixing the oil with methanol and sodium hydroxide in small quantities and drain the glycerin. This process turns oil into biodiesel and apparently it’s good for car engines. Would be interesting to clean the oil with your system to turn it into biodiesel after.
@AverageJoesracingteam9 ай бұрын
@@vfbrs2382 I looked into making bio diesel years ago. It's harder to get cooking oil from restaurants than it is to get trans fluid or oil from shops. Not to mention that I didn't want to be doing chemical reactions, especially with glycerine.
@vfbrs23829 ай бұрын
@@AverageJoesracingteam understandable, no one wants weird chemicals in his engine and waste cooking oil is sought after by big companies to make biofuel. The latter is the reason why I think it’s interesting

How many passes are you doing on the centrifuge?
@AverageJoesracingteam10 ай бұрын
Currently just 1, because 1 is better than I did before when I just filtered and settled. When I finally get a truck with a 6.0, I will try 2-3 passes to see what the difference is. I haven't had any issues running the jetta yet, but if I were to clog an injector on a 6.0, they are much more difficult to service. So if making a couple more passes on the fluid helps to prevent any issues, I will definitely do that
@brandonroberson811310 ай бұрын
@@AverageJoesracingteam Right on. Are you running a straight WMO RUG mix in the jetta or do you do a percent mix with diesel?
@AverageJoesracingteam10 ай бұрын
@brandonroberson8113 when I run blk diesel (wmo/rug ), I also run at least 30 percent diesel secure people put all kinds of crap in oil. The diesel helps to keep the junk liquid. Atf has plenty of detergent that keeps the atf good. So I run straight atf with a little rug to thin it to diesel viscosity so it's easier on the pump
