Im just wondering has any of us Star Wars fans have likened this political scenario of today to the story of Star Wars? like a freedom fighterLuke (Kamala Harris without a lightsaber) who is a rebel fighting against and evil person always wanted to be an emporer (we all know who) and regional governors who will and have done his biddings? i mean it all is so surrealistic dont think?

First of all i dont get it i thought the emporer had been killed in episode VI and second Is "Rey" a Skywalker or not because (quite frankly) it hadnt watched the last 3 episodes of Star Wars and was rumored back then that she wasn't. So whats the dealio?

The RLM framing here is very misleading. This is a ROUGH cut screening. It's not some event where everyone celebrates and pops open the champagne, it's the film in it's most unpolished state. The screening is meant to be about trouble shooting and addressing problems. And it comes at a point deep into production where everyone's exhausted, yet there's still months and months of work left to be done.

Except, the final product still came out crap, so clearly they didn't do enough to fix it. They all knew it was shit and was still going to be shit. Anyone tricking themselves into thinking that this was a good movie is just COPE.

You can push your narrative as aggressively as you want, it doesn't make it any more true or any less presumptuous. Even Plinkett had the humility to end his commentary of this scene with "but that's just my interpretation of the footage, I wasn't there" and leaving open the possibility of different interpretations. Try following their example.

I remember going to see the re-release in cinemas back then. I'm too young to have seen the original. Disney should have asked Hamill to be in charge of the franchise after George, not Kathleen Kennedy
