So this is Andy Allan from the Lightning Raiders?? I used to follow that band around London when I was 15 in the late 70's, Andy passed me my first spliff backstage at the Marquee, I was a little naive I didnt even know I thought it was some sort of hippy thing passing a cigarette ;-)

I love this piece. My husband and I start every single wine-tasting drive with this gorgeous masterpiece by B.J. Cole and play the rest of this CD as we drive from vineyard to vineyard. It adds a dreamy feel to the whole experience. B. J.’s sound is so distinctive I remember the day not too long ago when it finally struck me that his signature sound is unmistakably present in Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer” , something I didn’t know, but suddenly heard now that I am so familiar with his unique sound. What a gift!

Anyone who wants to hear Mr. Cole's complete composition of Clair De Lune should check out Moodswings Album, Horizontal (2002). It's a beautiful piece.

20 years ago when I had a little radio gig, 'Bareback' was on high rotation. Such a fresh clean sound.- still is. 'Half Smile' was only half as good - is there nothing new in the last 21 years?

@joeatkinson460
@joeatkinson460 Жыл бұрын
@hefelumpx7554 I had a crack at working this out today. I think the basic chords (minus all the nice embellishments) are something like this. Below are the open chord shapes - put the capo wherever it makes sense for your voice. (Pete's got it on the 7th, so the 'Am' below is actually Em, the C is a G and so on, if you get what I mean!). Not 100% sure about all the lyrics. Am C Well you’re your daddy’s son F C G C You cheat and you lie and you seem to hate everyone F C G C F And never a good turn done Am C That’s what the oldies said F C G C When you’re still out of breath and I'm back in your salad days F C G C G Back in the eighty eight C F You’re back in the eighty eight Am C And you’re a sight so grim F C G C And everyone loves to be near and to hang around F C G C F But I wish you’d stay in Am C And I remember you when you were thin F C G C The solitude broke you down the naysayers paved the way F C G C G The night might suck you in C F To spit you out at dawn again Am C And don’t the weather change? F C G C If lovers are raindrops that lash on your windows F C G C F I don’t mind if it rains Am C And you don’t care where it comes from F C G C They're working their fingers to the bone just to keep you fed F C G C G And you’re the one to blame C F If you put them in an early grave

Well, people they're trying to tear us apart They're trying to rip out my heart Those people talking, people talking And living is full of misery and pain But if somebody calls you a dirty name Keep on walking, keep on walking I love you more than this cruel will ever know I wanna be your girl forever, I don't wanna let you go Well if I could change things I would die just to return Another name and knowing everything I've learned I'd keep on walking, keep on walking Now all my life I've just tried to get along But all I ever hear is gossip and wagging tongues And I have suffered, and I have cried myself to sleep And I have wandered down these highways and dirty streets Keep on walking, keep on walking Well people are trying to tear us apart They're trying to rip out my heart Those people talking, people talking And living is full of misery and pain But if somebody calls you a dirty name Keep on walking, keep on walking I love you more than this cruel world will ever know I wanna be your girl, I don't wanna let you go Well if I could change things, I would die just to return Another name and knowing everything I've learned I'd keep on walking, keep on walking Oh, people talking Keep on walking People talking Keep on walking Those people talking Keep on walking People talking Keep on walking

Oh never mind that I'm gonna go downtown I've got a 2 dollar bill And a girl who hangs around Well it's a slow walk Oh it's a slow walk Oh it's a slow walk From the bottom to the top Now my old man says I ain't been the same Since the bad I'm feelin Got into my brain Well it's a slow walk It's a slow walk Oh it's a slow walk From the bottom to the top You stick the needle in your arm And your baby starts cryin' You stick the needle in your arm Well there ain't no denying That it's a slow walk It's a slow walk Oh it's a slow walk From the bottom to the top Now I ain't as bright As the sun when it shines When you say you forgive me Start to believe That it's a lie It's a lie Oh it's a lie Oh but never mind that I'm gonna go downtown I've got a 2 dollar bill And a girl that hangs around Well it's a slow walk It's a slow walk Oh it's a slow walk From the bottom to the top
