Hello, I have lived in Petersburg my whole life and I never seen anyone do as much as you have. I really loved and enjoyed watching your video. I hope you enjoyed your stay at Petersburg. you should check out homeport electronics. they can make custom stickers, labels and sign. But they really specialize in installing electronics like Sonos autopilots and others. they also sell a lot of stuff.

I just bought this 800 plus and absolutely love it. Do you know if once the flashlight's are charged, do you just leave them on the compartment when not in use? It seems like they will be continuously charging. Im worried the battery on them will degrade.

I love ours too. I believe it is a smart charger, but I'm not positive. If you go to www.anker.com at the bottom click on About and then Contact us, you an email specific questions to them to get a good answer on this. All questions are good and is good for them to hear so they continue to make and improve their already great products or put more information in their descriptions..

What fish are available when you are talking about going back up there?
@svseaglobe
@svseaglobe 5 күн бұрын
Still working on the details for next year. I like all kinds of fishing, so I will know more closer to next year as we're hoping to get some sort of fishing adventure planned during the Expedition. Typically in Alaska we're getting Salmon, but depending on if we have a boat available we might have a Halibut option.

Is that an ARB Jack on your brush guard? If so, have you had problems with it leaking hydraulic fluid with it mounted like that? The reason I am asking is that ARB recommends not to store it horizontally for that very reason.
@svseaglobe
@svseaglobe 5 күн бұрын
Yes, talked to ARB about a fix and they're still working on it, but I don't have another option to store it yet. It is something we're looking into.

Really digging your videos about this trip, as I have said before, I sure wish you were at least doing a little fishing. Fishing is one of the reasons I "overland" along with some hunting. I am wanting to do a trip to SE Alaska in which fishing, both in the streams and maybe from the surf would play a large part.

Crane lake has fish. We were in between storms on the hike. I love to fish too, just had specific goals on this trip and the weather wasn't the best and did't get any fishing in even though I brought a pole just incase. I've lived in and around Southeast Alaska, Washington, and Oregon and know quite a few fishing holes. I will document them on the maps when I know it's a good fishing hole.

just for everyones reference; (onX) the rubicon trail is an 8 difficulty/technical rating...and fordyce is even higher at a 9... so his " class" system isnt quite conducive to actual/onX ratings. everything in this video, at face value is a california 2-3(normal fire road)

He's correct I was driving in BC Canada I sliced my very good quality 4WD tires on my Land Cruiser with shale on sidewalls it looked like a large knife sliced them it puts you on wheel rims immediately so right close by you must jack your vehicle up & replace the tire easily done sometimes depending on day it is humbling it's not carelessness it's Shale shale is so strong & sharp.

I did the intercoastal ferry back in 1981 and it appears to be a totally different type of crowd on it now a days. There were those of us heading north to fish, camp, prospect and hunt and there were those that were rather like hippies. Had a blast on the ferry sleeping on the deck. I hope the amount of logging has changed since then, back then a lot of the islands had large swaths of slopes devoid of trees and were nothing but stumps and logging debris. As I now get close to retirement I am planning another trip up there and have built a vehicle specifically with that in mind. I built out a 2023 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon with an Alu Cab Canopy Camper. If I recall, a one way ticket for a vehicle and two people to Haines was around 1k USD give or take.
@svseaglobe
@svseaglobe 18 күн бұрын
It still is fun going up on the ferry. There is hardly any logging anywhere on the Islands as it was shut down years ago. Sounds like you've got a great set up for your trip. I think my one way ticket to PSG vehicle + passenger was a little over $1500 so it has gone up. I had to purchase tickets Island to Island as I was on standby, but it tally's up about the same. You can click on the ferry link to see updated estimate pricing.

Brilliant beautiful colors for those of who grew up around rain forest in cedars just wonderful place to go. For desert people it's not so much. But I love it being from cedar river area & rain forest pretty colors love mosses, cedars & flowers . Amazing footage 100% far love this to forest fires aftermath. Porcupine are cute love bear moose deer, though bear not in my food or bedding area. Fantastic footage wonderful choice of guitar picking nice effect and choice for end of scenes or video. Love this guys pretty video. I've been great fan of this typography as you both know. Good job great choice. This is why people my whole life have said Dave you should move to Alaska you'ld love it.
