I’d buy it without hesitation. Except my wife seems to have this idea about living in a real house and buying groceries. A real kill joy.

The only problem with all alt az mounts is they do not accommodate for field rotation... So you are limited to how much you can stack before field rotation becomes very prevalent... Astrophotography is a bottomless money pit, just depends how hooked you become... This scope is unfortunately over priced the seestar S50 & S30 are probably a better starting point due to their price...

Wouldnt it be fun if the telescope is actually not showing anything but instead the app is downloading images from the web resizing them on your phone.

That is exactly what the Chinese Huawei phone does. lol. Take a photo of the moon and it will select an existing image and pretend it is live.

I can confirm your experience. The pictures are awesome. However, with my Origin after about 1.5 hours of use, the internal WLAN connection becomes weak and the response time to an input command too long. I hope the next update by Celestron will change this.
@CraigPitts7 күн бұрын
Oh really, that's odd, hopefully they do resolve that and I hope you get some clear skies soon, enjoy your Origin!

Smart telescopes are cool, But i dont think they should take over astrophotography
@CraigPitts7 күн бұрын
I don't think they will, they're like a gateway into taking it more seriously. Using the Origin has definitely peaked my interest in astrophotography now for sure!
@stevenlarkin17067 күн бұрын
They will take over because of ease of use, however they will get more expensive as they start working much better. Until then there will be no beating a $10000 photography rig.

Good times man! Reels & TikTok, and improving phone technology has lowered the bar of entry for anyone to create content, and have a voice on social media, which isn't a bad thing. I look back at those early years where engagement was 5 times what it is now, but I often chased 'the shot', instead of remembering to document life around me. My engagement dropped off dramatically, but I love photography more than ever. It's the process I enjoy most, as it's one of the only outlets in life that forces me to be present. Remember to shoot for you and not the platform, or the outcome.

Been almost 18 months since I threw a wobbly and deleted IG, FB, Linkedin, threads and Twitter in the spur of the moment. Never going back. You don't realise how ridiculous it is until you're off it. Kept KZbin, but I upload most my stuff with the publish to feed turned off, so it limits my distribution. Considered turning comments off, but keeping them for now. Anyway, just to say that you're onto something important. Had 2 months in Tokyo in 2021. Wonderful experience. Enjoy! Nice watch (7X Pro?), and bring back the 2019 beard!!!
