As an artist, I have always believed that the true job of a real artist is to challenge ideas and beliefs and to inspire questions...to question everything. So, I agree, it is not the artist's job to teach. It's better if the world questions and discovers their own answers. I hope they're paying attention. I sure am. Thank you for being you.

I don't know how I can express my admiration, but in my head, she is equal with the biggest name of art history. Many years ago - about 1975 - I was trying to remember the lyric to this song - and a friend asked what i was singing. I told her i was trying to remember "St James Infirmary Blues" She said "It doesn't sound like blues to me." It was years later that i thought to that... and i realised that she was thinking of rhythm and blues...

I needed this woman in my life long before now

I'm kind of freaked out after seeing the art first and looking at Laurie's face. The resemblances to so many of the figures is erie! Like one very long self portrait! I should know, I do detailed drawing too and the hours are off the charts! She wins the Guiness Book of Records though, hands down!

Her work is amazing! Tried to get one of her books for years, unsuccessfully, but she has a new book out published this year titled 'Drawing'. Getting my order in now! I hope she achieves the recognition she so rightly deserves soon.

God, I love her

I love her humbleness. True artists are humble and tortured by insecurity, and they may actually be a bit masochistic. We love what we do, and we assume we are the only ones unless otherwise told so. A true artist does what they do because they love what they do, not because they want to make others happy. She’s the epitome of this.
