Who is watching this December 31st 2024 tomorrow is 1st January 2025 another year gone the years seem to roll in quicker now I am 65 years old. Such a shame and what a talent like Karen Carpenter gone to soon!! Eating disorders are not nice I have problems with eating due to IBS and I also have chronic Anxiety on a daily basis it is not easy but I am still here never give up I say!! I believe she got down to 4 stone UK weight far too thin. I can't imagine the pain she must have felt. You could see it on her face when she sung. Being famous is not for everyone the pressure she was put under having to get slim so as she could get into her clothes for the shows she did and not her own choice her boss was very stricked not a nice person making her get thinner it's all about money for the shows if only they had cared more about her as a human being and not more about the shows she did look where she would have been today with all that talent what a wonderful voice she has gone far too soon only 35 years old her whole life ahead of her. She is at peace now no more suffering although it was 1999 when she passed and that seems like a life time ago now she"s up there with her lovely father who tried desperately to help her but it just was not to be. Gone to soon but never forgotten!!😢

Can someone tell me if she ever done theatre work?

It's incredibly sad, she's so sweet, and talented, but to hear someone admit the have "no hope" is heartbreaking. She tried all she could to hide her eating disorder from the public, but it was always evident. Like here, she says she was only anorexic for two years, however, by the early nineties she was at her worst. The fact Lena still managed to be so sweet and warm in such frail shape is remarkable.

Lena would have been about 17 here, almost operatic in intensity and would have had many hits in the 1980’s had she been well enough to record songs, especially power ballads. It is unrealised potential, and it’s all the more tragic for that.

Fame came too early, but I can understand how you have to take the opportunity, but in hindsight she was such a great singer that had she found fame later then it would be easier to deal with, things should have turned out differently. She might be remembered as a child singing sensation, but I didn’t realise until recently what a great adult singer she was.
