The low note in the intro is a concert E, so that's a low C# on alto and an F# on tenor. It goes up an octave for the first interval.

@SaxStation20 күн бұрын
The first three notes are a concert C down an octave twice and then up an octave once. That would be A on alto/bari sax and D on tenor/soprano. Try getting this by ear by listening to the slowed down version and playing along piece by piece.

Thanks so much for this video. For the life of me, I couldn’t trigger a lowest C starting with it. I can very easily play it sliding down from D. Once started from D to C I can make the C resonate in any dynamic or modulation… strange.
@SaxStation26 күн бұрын
You can keep practicing that transition and it should help you be able to get a low C directly.

That seemed to work with the band I played with most. I will adjust the settings depending on what I'm playing though.

How can I keep the higher notes in tune?
@SaxStationАй бұрын
In what way are they out of tune? And are they consistently high or low?
@Drago_god3691Ай бұрын
@SaxStation Consistently sharp
@Drago_god3691Ай бұрын
@SaxStation They are very sharp, especially high A
@SaxStationАй бұрын
Are you lower notes in tune? If so, you could try lipping down the higher notes a bit. Think of more an 'ooh' shape of your mouth instead of an 'ee'. Then you'll have to start getting used to the new tonal center for those notes.

Hey Neal. Do all of these programs require both 'jammers' to have the programs installed, or do any work via one 'jammer' (teacher in this case) having the program installed, and the other 'jammer' (/student) merely clicking a link they receive from me, sort of like on zoom/teams? Thanks!

This is confusing. I've been using JK for 4 years and that I know of there has been 1 update. There knowledge base and help sections talk about updates in 202. It's now 2024. We've found tis app to be very buggy, presenting new problems every week with very little help or support available. Support boards point you back to suer setup being the problem but we have not changed anything since first successfully using it. Different bugs almost every week.

How common is utilizing these stuff among sax players? i.e. is it possible to cover the full range of saxophone with e.g. 3 buttons and one hand, akin to trumpet?
@SaxStationАй бұрын
@@zuraforreg3088 no, that’s not possible. But overtones are used commonly enough at a certain level. They also can help your tone in general.

How do you position your fingers? If I'm going to build up muscle memory I want to do it right. Put your right thumb on C, the index finger on D etc? Something else?
@SaxStation2 ай бұрын
That depends on the key you’re playing in, where a part of a song is tonally centered, etc. what you described could be a good starting place, but it won’t always be best. A screen is also a bit different than an actual piano.
@CeeEee-it6uz2 ай бұрын
They have a piano coming soon that is compatible with the app. But it’s very expensive (I think) $250 for something that you can get off of Best Buy for like less than a $100. Thanks for your review.

Check to see if the G# key makes a pad rise. That’s probably the most common pad to get stuck.
@DabblerDaveАй бұрын
Shorter tube have higher pitch than longer tubes The sax gets to lower pitches by closing normally open tone holes with key presses and higher pitches by opening normally closed tone holes closer to the mouthpiece with key presses that effectively change the resonate length of the saxophone, so ditto, check on what opens or closes with each key press. One post use practice is to draw cloth from underneath normally closed tone hole to dry them in addition to routine post use swabbing of body and neck.
