Bastille inspired my Bachelors thesis on archeology in education back in 2013. I learned of the Pompeii exhibit at the British Museum because of your performance there, and had the good fortune to get to visit there that summer while I was living in Sheffield. I've been fascinated by Pompeii for 30 years now. To paraphrase the museum's statement, the serendipity was impossible to ignore. I had an indescribable experience being just centimeters from the objects and remains I'd first read about when I was only just learning to read. But I was dismayed at the mistreatment of artifacts and lack of interest not only by members of the public, but the museum itself. Over the next few years, I wrote my thesis on how teachers could help kids build a love of history and respect for material culture by incorporating archeology into various subjects. It wasn't a very good thesis, but you get the idea. The next year, back in Finland, I got to see Bastille play at Ruisrock. It was an amazing experience. Something about this all feels like it's coming full circle. In the time I've listened to Bastille, I've become more independent, become more invested in the world. My life circumstances are different. Bastille has been a constant in my life while so much has changed (for the better!) Watching the band grow and Dan gain confidence as an artist has been a privilege for the past decade. I'm so eager to see where it all goes next.

I have felt truly blessed to witness you guys develop all these 12 years since I started listening. Hearing your sound evolve, it felt like a perfect soundtrack for the world we were living in. Been a fan of Dan and Bastille since the day the first album dropped. I went to HMV and just bought a few CDs of new records. Had no clue about the band or what the music would be like. However all these years later my wife and i are still in love with everything you guys do. I am so intrigued by this new concept and cannot wwit to hear it all. ❤

I have and trust me they’re incredible! When they came to Summerfest it was the most magical experience! The opening night fireworks were happening, they just finished, turn around and Bastille starts to play. Just the best! See them live if you can/when you can!!!
