Make sure you are worshipping King Jesus not King James. God preserved his words throughout 2000 years++. He didn't do it exclusively through a Roman Catholic priest in the 1500s that was rushing his copy to print before anyone else's came out.

Could you explain your reasoning behind using NKJV and KJV? My understanding is that they are based off newer and perhaps less accurate manuscripts. Not to mention that in some places the English just isn’t the same and they had a poor understanding of the Ancient Greek language when translating the KJV. Such as Deut. 33:17 where a singular noun most likely an Ox is erroneously translated plurally as “unicorns”. There are numerous similar examples
@FeroxMinisterium
@FeroxMinisterium 6 ай бұрын
Great question, my reasoning is that in many cases where aspects of Christian doctrine is clearly stated in the Bible, some translations take the liberty to translate differently, which in turn leads to not understanding the depth of a verse. In many places where the original text would say "Spirit of God" it would say "winds of God". Things like this lead me to recommend these. If anything I would even recommend the Douay-Rheims translation!

@@FeroxMinisterium I saw that the NRSV does that which most people say is just an updated version of the RSV. Not sure if NIV does that but im not a big NIV fan. because I don't typically need a thought for thought translation since I grew up in the church its helped me articulate the text. I would use the KJV more but I have a hard time with some of the archaic words. I am more into the NKJV, ESV, and NASB95 (Possibly LSB too). I just like NKJV since it's literal and poetry doesnt suffer.
@FeroxMinisterium
@FeroxMinisterium Ай бұрын
@ Yup NRSV I am not a big fan of either for the same reason. One example is that one of them in Genesis says “and the winds of God hovered over the waters” compared to the Spirit of God hovered over the waters, and I am not cool with that! LSB, I think Legacy Standard Bible, is really good since it’s pretty accurate and puts in Yahweh when the Lords divine name is used. If you pair LSB with KJV, that’s a good duo right there.
@aeropowell
@aeropowell Ай бұрын
@@FeroxMinisterium The LSB suffers the same problem that the KJV does, neither are easy to read or comprehend. You also did not address the original question, the KJV and NKJV both use flawed manuscripts, that lead to errors in translation, it is common academic practice to accept the new manuscripts based on Dead Sea scrolls. Addressing Critical Text vs Textus receptus needs to be done if you are going to recommend KJV and NKJV. As an addition "Winds of God" vs "Spirit of God" is not a mistranslation. The Hebrew word transliterated is ruach. It can be translated as any of the following; "Breath, Spirit, wind, blast, mind" and more depending on context. The word wind is used as an artistic/symbolic choice to connect the word wind to later uses of the word, by doing so the translators are able to connect later biblical stories to the creation narrative, much the same way readers of Hebrew would have understood it. This does not prevent depth of the verse but enhances it. "Not being okay" with something is not a sound logical argument. Changing that verse to wind is not "doctrinal" in any way shape or form.

Who wrote the apostles creed? The apostles or some bishops and all that?
@FeroxMinisterium
@FeroxMinisterium 9 ай бұрын
Great question! Here's what I got! Although in 404 AD Tyrranius Rufinus perpetuated the legend that the apostles themselves wrote the Apostles’ Creed, most scholars agree it is an eighth century expansion of the second century baptismal creed of Rome called the “Roman Symbol.” Its primary usage was as a baptismal creed, a function it retains to this day. At the same time St. Ambrose (339-397) and St. Augustine (354-430) urged their flocks to recite daily the “Symbol of Faith.” This devotional recitation is part of the reason it heads the Rosary. media.ascensionpress.com/2020/02/07/differences-between-the-nicene-and-apostles-creeds/

oooof, this argument fails on so many levels. #1 God often refers to himself in 3rd person. #2 do you really think exodus is a word for word retelling of what was actually said? #3 people often refer to themselves in third person especially narcissists, Trump is a prime example. #4 Yahweh originated in southern Canaan as a lesser god in the Canaanite pantheon. Some theories suggest that Yahweh was a god of metallurgy in the ancient Canaanite pantheon, worshipped by smelters and metalworkers throughout the Levant.

The Trinity is a made up lie by the Catholic Church. God is one! Repeatedly in scripture God refers to himself emphatically as one… (Isaiah 43:11 …………I alone am God, and besides me, there is (no savior, ) Never does he refer to himself as a Trinity! Every pagan religion throughout history has worshiped a multiplicity of deities, and the Catholic Church changed the monotheistic nature of God at the council of Nicca, in the year 325 when they introduced the doctrine of the Trinity! The doctrine of the Trinity says that there are three (co-equal persons) in the godhead! God is not a person! God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship him in spirit, and in truth! You’ve been deceived bro.
