One page just one page filed by me directly to the court got me my perfection letter of approval. Now thanks to lawyers mucking things up for everyone; I do not know when I will hear from them. But I told my wife to get widow benefits should I die sooner than later.

My claim as the spouse of a Marine was submitted to a different law firm. I have never had an update about my personal claim nor have I ever been contacted or requested to submit additional information. I have truly loss all interest and hope, and don't expect anything any more. I was 25 years of age while in Camp Lejeune with a 2 year-old and expecting another baby. I'm 78 now. I had a kidney transplant 12 years ago and it is now failing. My exhusband has passed away and if I was going to receive any help, I needed it yesterday. I don't have any hope nor do I expect to ever see a resolution as I don't have long to live. From the information here regarding attorneys fees, I was told to accept sharing a very large percentage of any settlement. I did mention that the usual fee 30% of recovering but had to go along with their more larger demand. Since I'll not receive anything, I don't really care.

Thank you doc. I have this for sure. I need 6 different doctors to treat all of the injury and I can't afford it. It's awful. I'm still in shape but I have pain all over my lower extremities my testosterone levels down to 200 if I don't fix it with TRT of course PTSD is something I was able to get through but now the muscular skeletal pain. Brain fog. My decision making processes aren't as good as they used to be. I used to be able to organize major operations that hit 30 locations simultaneously with well over 200 operators from various different agencies. Now I can barely manage my own paperwork that comes in the mail. I sure wish there was a doctor that could handle all this they need to start making them because there's a lot of us out here

Can you still file a claim , if so who is a reputable attorney to contact?

None of them. Maybe you can still file on your own directly to the court. I did. Not sure about the deadline though.

Camp LeJeune "JUSTICE ACT"!!!!! This is BS!!! The Dept. of Justice (Dept, of Jesters) and the Dept. of the Navy have been tasked with resolving and MAKING WHOLE the Marine Veterans and their families so negatively affected by the poisons this government admittedly allowed them to bathe in and consume from 1953 to 1985. The D.O.J. and Dept. of the Navy have decided to reduce the illnesses one may have from these contaminated waters to just a hand full when in fact they have NO IDEA the illnesses and affects caused by these waters. They to date have done little to nothing to resolve this issue and MAKE WHOLE EVERY VETERAN and their FAMILIES in this matter. BS after BS has been all they have provided. I am a MARINE now with cancer due to the C.L.W.C.; I EARNED that title! I am and always will be proud to have EARNED that title. I however am ashamed to have served and sacrificed for a government that knowingly and willingly permitted this to happen to us. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!!! I don't ever want to hear from anyone those words again.

When these DOJ lawyers and Navy JAG lawyers want to be elevated to higher offices, the answer should be NO. When these judges want to be elevated, the Senate should say NO. The more they say no to the veterans and family members who were poisoned, the louder the NO should be when they want to be promoted. We have the list of the government lawyers who are violating us. Don't forget them. They should have a curse mark on their foreheads, like CAIN. www.courtlistener.com/docket/67266149/parties/camp-lejeune-water-litigation-v-united-states/

Every civilian family member exposed to that base needs health care. It should NOT matter whether they slept off base or on base. Right now, CLFMP excludes anyone who slept off base. It does not matter if you were exposed for years or if you were sick from it. This is absolutely wrong and outrageous. None of the CLJA victims with valid claims should have to spend anything on health treatments.

Compare how our government has been treating illegal border crossers and how they have treated Camp Lejeune victims. Illegal migrants have been given free housing , food, cell phones and tens of thousands of dollars. They have given this nation and government nothing. WE Marines laid it all on the line and served with honor and dignity but they have only given us "Delay, Deny and Wait Till They Die". They are still inventing new blockades and hurdles to keep us from getting anything while they look to do even more for illegal migrants. Respectfully, that is BS.

Why is the focus in Camp Lejeune when Schreiver AFB PFAS was over 870K parts per trillion. The highest of any location. Many veterans have died not knowing what killed them.

The Corps knew about this since the 1990s. I read about the contamination from an article in the VFW mag. I have filed 4 claims to no effect. Filling out form after form through the VA local office. Now to have to wait again, this time my Marine husband has passed in 2019 with pancreatic cancer. We had 2 children on base (early 1968 thru late 1970) and living in New River Air Station for 2 years. Many other health issues we experienced through the years. Leukemias, skin cancers, autoimmune disorders, etc. Being in my 70s and have to relive the issues again and again, is hard. I have a lawyer filing my husbands and my claim also. Waiting Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no issue with giving attorneys their due - but when the majority of the information for the suits is provided by the “client”, and most of that can’t be verified because of the medical records “aging out”, it’s a major problem that should have been in the original legislation!!!

Im very confused about this. I only hear want the lawyer's want you to do. I was at Camp Lejeune from 1975 to 1977. I have several things wrong with me. I am in my 4th year of remission of squamous cell carcinoma of the nasal pharanyx. I was also exposed to burn pits. fire fighting foam and AFFF agent, exposed to oil fires during gulf war. The cancer treatment both chemo and radiation left me with a feeding tube and a throat opening the size of a pea. I have no salivatory glands and ended up with stage 3 kidney disease. Not to mention neurological problems and bacterial infections in my spine. I am rated 100% permanently disabled by the VA. I am being told that if I filed a case with a lawyer and won any money the VA would deduct that amount from my disability pay and rating could be reduced. I don't understand why I can't sue over the fact that they KNOWINGLY POISENED ME!
@thomasfraser9072Ай бұрын

I agree that the deadline must be extended or removed altogether. There is no rational reason why there needs to be a deadline at all. Even the 9/11 victims have 2090 as their deadline. That should be the case here. Enough with fake hurdles that just cause anxiety and more suffering. I would also ask that any payment made be exempt from capital gains taxes when invested. This makes up for the fact that no punitive damages can be awarded (also irrational) and the long period of waiting for justice, over 70 years in some cases.

The comment about the Corrections Act becoming a bad thing because it will make the attorney fee cap unreasonable - nice way to try to put the fear in people that no one will represent them because it's not financially worth the time. :( Use the slush funds out there that our government uses all of the time to cover things and help these men and women. It gets me so angry. My Dad died for what? It's like a kick in the teeth. :( :( :(
@zhippidydoodah4 ай бұрын
So the Camp Lejeune Justice Corrections Act is a proposed item and is not set in stone, from my understanding. The biggest hurdle is that August deadline for filing anything - that MUST be extended. Far too many affected people do not know this is even happening.
