Hey I have a 1971 ford 4000 and the 3 point goes all the way down and no in between in both draft settings do you know what that could be?
@CanadianRedneck1513 сағат бұрын
THe draft lever has to be in "position control" to hold the arms in a given position. If they still don't hold there must be an issue with the internal linkage. Thanks for watching!

I can find no information about this procedure anywhere else. I have a leak behind the brakes. Does this mean I have to pull the hydraulic assembly from the top of the differential to gain access to the seals where the brake plate connects to the block?
@CanadianRedneck1513 сағат бұрын
Yes, it's likely the seal on the brake shaft (bull pinion shaft) which goes into the bull pinion housing from the inside. Thanks for watching!

Hi Dave! I need some help with my 3pt. I got stuck with the snow mover and lifted/pulled the tractor backwards with another traktor, i think i loftet the 3pt to max and now its not working, the safety chain inside the hydraulic tank is a broken but the rest looks fine. Its a 434, and it worked just fine before i lifted it/pulled ut in the 3pt. Great videos! Br/Alex from sweden
@CanadianRedneck156 күн бұрын
The push rod that moves the rock shaft just sits against the piston in the lift cylinder. Yours may have lifted far enough to jam the push rod. Make sure it will slide back in against the piston. You may have to loosen the valve body at the front and move it forward a bit to get the rod back into the lift cylinder if that is your problem. Thanks for watching!
@jeepcherokee5656 күн бұрын
@CanadianRedneck15 Thanks! I guess i cant send or receive pics here? Otherwise i should av send you a pic, i just sucked the oil out of it and saw that the chain was broken.

Ive got a1962 - B275 w Mechanical Depth Control (NOT Vary Touch) and experiencing two issues changing Hydraulic Fluid 1) no drain plug in this model - does all the fluid drain from the suction filter once removed? if not how do i drain the fluid out? 2) i have remove the collar and slid it up, however the filter seems to be seized in. will not turn up or or pull out. is it maybe rusted in? any tips?
@CanadianRedneck1514 күн бұрын
On the models with mechanical depth control the fluid drains from the filter hole, you can help it along by having the tractor tipped down hill a little bit. The filter is held in place by the friction of the o-ring that seals it. If they've been in place for a long time they do stick a bit. Use a large pair of pliers, I use channel locks, to wiggle it free. You do have to remove the lever bracket on the models with mechanical depth control. Thanks for watching!

Any good quality diesel engine oil would be fine, th emanual calls for a straight 30wt oil but 10-30 or 15-40 should be fine. CaseIH Hy-tran oil is the recommended hydraulic oil.

Great video Dave. I try to push down on pedal to lock differential and the pedal won’t move at all. Any ideas?
@CanadianRedneck1525 күн бұрын
Check to make sure your pedal is free to pivot on the bolt that holds it and that the dif-lock shaft hasn't worn into the slope/wedge that pushes the shaft in. If those are OK the shaft is likely sticking a bit. You may be able to loosen it by giving a few light taps with a hammer. Thanks for watching!
@dtm807325 күн бұрын
@ Thanks for the quick reply Dave. Cheers!
@dtm807325 күн бұрын
@ The shaft was worn into the slope a little bit. Was able to grind a little bit of a slope out of the hole. The return spring was also missing so maybe didn’t help for shaft wearing into slope. New spring installed. Now works perfect! Thanks Dave!

@CanadianRedneck1528 күн бұрын
There were a few variations, manual steering had a shorter spindle, the steering arm is keyed and has a bolt through the side to lock the arm to the spindle. Power steering has longer spindle and the amr goes on a tapered spline with a nut on top to hold the arm on. There was also a high clear or row crop version that was some where around 8-12" taller. I really have learned a lot from your videos. I rebuilt a BD154 on an IH 384 watching them. The motor runs perfectly but the 3 point lift goes up in a jerky way under a load. Kind of a Bump, bump, bump. It will raise the cutter to wherever the lever is set and stay there until lowered. Just jerky going up. I cleaned the suction screen and hydraulic tank during the rebuild. My question is whether I might have a pump issue or a valve bypassing? Hate to buy a pump and not fix the problem. Thoughts? Thanks for all you do! It really helps!

Hi , I have a 956XL case/intern. sometimes when I push rhs brake pedal , both back wheels stop together. Doesnt hapen with lhs brake pedal. Is there any adjustment on the mastercylinder to correct this? Last yr I had a terrible accident on the hills , and rolled this tractor, it happened when I tried to pull the front round using the rhs wheel brake , but both wheels stopped dead. The water tank I was carrying on the hydraulic arms lifted fast and tipped me over and down the hill. Be really grateful if you could help me out. I dont want another 6mths in the spinal unit.Cheers .... Alan Stuart NZ
