Hi again, I have a 3 point hitch that I can stop it from falling when I shut the tractor off, but I can't stop it from raising when I start it. I was wandering where you recommend I look and what my next step may be. Do I have to raise the hydraulic Tank again? Looking for any help or suggestions you can offer.

Regarding the odd specific torque values for torquing the head down. This engine is designed and built at the Neuss factory in Germany. When we translate the ft-lbs values to Nm then it makes more sense. These are approximate conversions. 30 ft-lbs = 40 Nm 59 ft-lbs = 80Nm 110 ft-lbs = 150 Nm

I have a IH384 and it appears the clutch is stuck to the flywheel, as it won't go into gear and when you try it just grinds, I removed the inspection cover and the clutch pedal is moving the throughout bearing,, so it seams the clutch is stuck to the flywheel.. Any suggestion on unsticking it. The tractor was sitting outside for 3 months.

Sometimes if you can put the tractor in 4 low or 2 high with the clutch pedal depressed and jump on the brake pedal you may be able to get it break loose, if not you're going to have to split the tractor. Thanks for watching!

Make sure the "open/close" valve is fully open and the draft control lever (lever next to the fender) is at least half way forward. If that doesn't solve the problem then you will have to start checking deeper to find the restriction to the flow of oil. Thanks for watching!

Older video but thanks for posting it. I have a 230 and its grinding when I try to use the PTO. I have to go as low RPM as possible. Also when I try to take out of PTO it grinds too and I have to shut the tractor off to get it to stop spinning. I am hoping its just an adjustment. I am going to pull the inspection plate and see. My Ford 3000 did the same thing and I had to split it and replace clutches and while I was in there I noticed the ring gear was cracked too. So this will be my 2nd clutch job.

You might want to check out kzbin.info/www/bejne/nIPcfHWji9RpgJY for adjusting the PTO stage on your clutch. It's not quite the same pressure plate but similar and will help you to find where to adjust. Yours is also supposed to be set at 080-.090 inches. Thanks for watching!

As a guy who has no qualifications I will say you got the job done workmanlike. I hope these comments are looked at as a help and not a criticism of what you do. City folks may look at farming as a rather bucolic activity but a lot of farm work these days is fixing machines and the tractor companies nowadeys don't make that any easier. A dedicated concrete slab preferably painted with some kind of floor paint means you don't have to lay down in the dirt, some kind of structure around that makes it even better, still better is winter heat. Light is also important since often you want this work done when the sun ain't shining. Likewise access to electric power. We all have to use those adjustable knuckle busters sometimes but a dimension wrench reduces bolt and nut roundoff. Since olde guys like me can't remember shit, i.e. what nut size to use, write down the size on the implement with a magic marker in a color of your choosing, I like black and silver. Amazon supplies me (and everybody else apparently) with a continuous supply of clean cardboard boxes to put tools in and the various greasy parts you take off and don't want to get dirt on, say like bearing races and fill plugs. I've got to applaud Ford of old for making inventory maintenance of oil filters much easier, at one time every ford car and truck used the same filter, the big truck engine used two of them. Diesels always have fuel filters, if yer gas engine doesn't have one get one of them see thru types and put it in the line to the carb, tadeys' gas is full of crap, hopefully you hydraulic system has a filter, I bought myself a battery impact wrench, a good one, not crap, you don't need to start the air compressor and it works out in the field. Bring an extra battery. A lot of folks I know are critical of rednecks, what i've learned is that they all seem to have a job, often one that bring on dirty hands, I respect men who have well earned dirty hands.

A lot of good tips, thank you! I believe redneck originated as a derogatory term for someone who works outdoors often with their hands and would get sunburned (a red neck). Sitting on the seat the valve on the left is the fast/slow hydraulic response valve, leave it on fast. On the right is the shut off valve that closes the flow from the lift cylinder, you only close that if you are using a specific port for remote hydraulics otherwise you are dead-heading the pump.
