what kendama should i buy after kendama pop? there is sweets starter, sweets double stripe fade and for example on kendama house there is a nick gallagher amped pro mod but its on sale. can you tell me what will be the best, i am not super advanced but i dont want to buy multiple kendamas, just one.

Something that's done in woodworking and pottery to smooth and harden a surface is called burnishing. If you want to harden the tip of your spike, rub it on a smooth, hard surface, like metal. Press it into the back of your combination lock, and rub it around. You'll find that burnishing compresses the wood, smoothing the surface, and making it more resistant to damage.

Krom had an interesting way with their low budget damas. I loved their pops when they first came out. Then they had three options: 1. Provide a premium shape with it. 2. Provide a premium clear with it. 3. Update the whole thing. (Clear and shape) And they went with giving it a premium clear but a "worse" shape. Maybe they should've gone the sweets way and hide the lol clear behind a paywall instead of the 2good shape.

Im glad someone else mentioned krom holding out on using the 2good shape on their main budget kendama. I never liked the ck and thought it was a cheap move..

Licking the bevel is not strange, I've heard and seen weird tips from people whose sports involves ball! Baseball - someone somewhere must've done this and inspired the kendama tip of licking the bevel. Football/soccer - touching the ground near the goal post, then licking what he touch, and hugging the goal post before the match starts, along with some discreet ball licking, is among the trick goalies use in my country. Maybe licking the bevel isn't so bad.(it taste like raw ice cream stick!) All I know, all the tips mentioned above works, so, I'm gonna do the bevel licking from now on.

Do you think string length should be shorter or longer depending on your height?

Not necessarily. I think it really is personal preference. I'm 6'4 and play with around a 7-8 finger string, but there's several younger kids who play with a 10+ finger string. It's all whatever you like playing with!
