Chances are good that you would actually have to attach a pick in order to get rid of Ayton. I suppose you may as well keep him as a tank captain for now.

I've never even watched a single Ayton Blazer game despite living within blocks of the arena. He is repulsive. Absolute bum. Straight up I refuse to watch. I've seen enough from Suns national tv games in the past. Not sure why this video was in my feed but the title and thumbnail made me laugh.

What makes it annoying for me is that Ayton has the gifts and tools to be such a great player, but he wastes it. It’s like Ben Simmons.

It's nice to want things, but Ayton is glued to us. DeAndre has the purest definition of a poison pill contract, and since his play hasn't improved to equal his salary, we're stuck with him. Sit back and enjoy!

It's clear the dude has no love for the game and is just here to collect a paycheck. When he actually comes to play, he can be a monster, but he other games where he straight-up doesn't try. It's absolutely infuriating as a Blazers fan. Bro, straight-up missed a game on a snowy game day when literally everyone else in the organization made it to the game just fine. 100% chance he just saw as an excuse to miss a game so he could play COD instead.

Why arent they playing Reath, they need a big that plays both ends of the floor, can give scoring, can shoot threes and gives ever effort every game.

As a Suns fan, I always said unless a team makes him the #1 option, he isn't interested. In games where the game plan is give the ball to Ayton he plays amazing all over, but he has no interest to just rebound and play defense if he doesnt get his.

Hey guys, great content! One suggestion tho. It’d be great if you could cut back on the “yes,” “hundred percent,” and “absolutely” when listening to the other person speak. It gets repetitive pretty quickly and makes it harder to hear what’s being said. Since podcast is a full listening experience, it’d do wonders if you start monitoring what you say. Hope to get more content from you soon😎

Ant and DA both are two peas in a pod in regards to not giving a f**k, especially defensively. Taking plays off, refusing to actually try, refusing to give any effort at all, hanging their heads, pouting, not getting back on plays on either end, especially defensively. If you're gonna say this about DA, you HAVE to about Ant, because it is factual for BOTH.

Deandre Ayton is too soft and too low energy to be a starting center in the league. A backup center, yeah okay.

I’m still very skeptical. His recent heroics have got his 3PT shooting percentage up to league average. But scooted was a poor finisher and shooter when he played in the G league and in high school and honestly his numbers are being boosted by good performances against bad teams Nevertheless, I also am not a Scoot hater I want him to play good and hopefully this boost his confidence alongside teaching him that he has some things to work on the potential there he just needs to actualise it

I agree completely. I realized he was actually a problem pretty early this season. We can’t have a starter that’s this inconsistent with his effort, especially when we’re a developing team

Ayton is a great backup center. He will always tempt you, he will always make you think "I can save him" but he just doesn't have it. I had hope, I kept telling people "Give him time, he just needs to mature" and well, I look stupid. His last year in Phoenix, especially the playoffs against the Nuggets, we all but stopped defending him. We came to the conclusion that was obvious and some of us were just late to accept it.

Not trying to defend Ayton, but you say it didn’t work with the Suns and it isn’t working with the Blazers….well, it was working with the Suns, even though that was also partly CP3. Suns were better before they got rid of those 2 for Durant. Blazers aren’t doing anything, not because of Ayton, but because you have shot chucking guards that don’t make anyone else better, albeit Simons has improved at passing, still dominates shot attempts while being less talented of a scorer than Ayton. Ayton doesn’t get the ball enough to do what he does best. Ayton was drafted out of college as an elite scoring prospect, not a utility big man. If you want a center who doesn’t demand touches, and will just rebound and screen, then just start Clingan, and let your mediocre perimeter wanna be scorers chuck shots all day, and take you nowhere. I think Clingan is going to be a great player, but even he will be held back by the unstructured offense by the shot chucking guards. Now I’m not talking about Scoot or Deni, because those guys play team ball, but this team has too many players that don’t know how to play winning ball. I think Chauncey allows it, because the Blazers front office wants to boost Afernee’s and Grant’s trade value. So ya’ll want to blame Ayton for your team being bad…well your team sucked before Ayton came. He may not be helping, but he’s not allowed to help in the way he does best, and why would he be engaged consistently on the defensive end, when the same reason he wanted out of Phoenix, the Blazers are doing the same thing. I feel bad for Ayton, because he was ready to be a Pacer, and they would have used him the right way, as they have players that actually pass the ball to their big men, but instead Phoenix matched just to use him in a trade for Durant. So yeah, Ayton may want out as much as ya’ll want him out. He deserves a better situation, and honestly the Blazers deserve a competitive team, but I’m just letting y’all know that Ayton isn’t the root of your problem. Selfish guards and poor defense is. When ya’ll fix that issue, then y’all can actually start winning games. This is pretty common on rebuilding teams, because they have so many young prospect that are trying to prove they can become major players and earn contracts, but unfortunately most young players think the only way to make big money is by being a scorer, and when you have too many young guys on a team trying to do that, they all cannibalize each other’s growth. It’s actually better that once you know what prospects you want to build with, that you trade all the other prospects and add vets, who are willing to do the dirty work, and who are passed the stage of trying to make a name for themselves. I think the Blazers front office is already aware of this process, and that they are about to trade as many of their prospects as they can outside of Scoot, Clingan, and Deni. Sharp, Simons, Camara are all probably going to be traded, and then Grant they are definitely trying to trade though he’s a vet, he’s an expensive vet eating cap space. Ayton they will probably trade, but a team has to want his bigger salary, and so if the Blazers try to get greedy and ask for 2 first round picks in addition, they won’t be able to trade him. As a Lakers fan, he’d be nice next to AD, but we can’t even do that while LBJ is a Lakers, so I’m not sure how many teams out there actually want him. So better offer him for one 1st or multiple 2nds.

I think some props need to go to the coaching team who are bringing him along. There has been little support for Choncy and his coaching team who are working with these guys in an environment where they are expected to discover their greatness and lose at the same time. Props to the coaches!

Blazers have beat the Clippers, Rockets, Nuggets, and Bucks. All of those teams are top 5 in their conference. Beating competitive teams as a rebuild may look worrying, but I think it does more for development than we can measure. Tbh, I'd take the 5th pick and a winning culture over the 1st pick and a losing culture any day.
