My gelding won’t do his spins or turn around very well unless he has boots and bell boots on. With them on he doesn’t hesitate to do what he is being asked.

This is horrible. Way too loose, you never wrap the fetlock twice, you provided no V at the base to provide a space of relief for him to move the joint (though he doesn't need one with how loose you're doing it), you came down too low on his leg and are going to create rubbing interference with bell boots, there's loose, baggy areas near the bottom, and you Velcro'd on his knee, not under it. You're going to get some very injured horses at the end of this

thats the problem with lower number heelers. they think they need to ride high all the time and take a low percentage corner shot. Ride proper position square up around the corner and rope.

Hunter Smith: Horsemanship, simple, noble, serene, and of grandeur, is rare in our days and time. The "vanity fair" of modern equestrianism offers surrogate alternatives, elevates sham imitations to the status of supposed ideals and models. Reinlame horses, to say horses ridden in a forced frame are rewarded with high scores by ignorant show judges, or rather talked: judges attached to equine industry. The western INDUSTRY is a good description for this parody of riding, it helps the industry to make big profit to the disadvantage of horse’s welfare, and lastly you don’t need skilled riders. "All sciences and arts have principles and rules, by means of which one makes discoveries leading to their perfection. Horsemanship is the one art for which it seems one needs only practice. However, practice without true principles is nothing other than routine, the fruit of which is a strained and unsure execution, a false diamond which dazzles semi-connoisseurs often more impressed by the accomplishments of the horse than by the merits of the horseman. From this comes the small number of well-trained horses, and the paucity of ability one sees at present in the majority of those who call themselves horsemen."
De la Guérinière's words have lost nothing of their poignancy with time.

Because he won much money and has success does NOT show that he's a good rider. A good rider does not need any Rollkur riding

This so-called pro demonstrates Rollkur or Low, Deep and Round to perfection! This parody of turn around is dilettantish. Using draw reins, and running reins, the horse does not flex properly at the poll, but rather flexes improperly at a lower neck vertebrae. This practice results in a horse that is working in a "headset" or "outline" that, to the inexperienced observer appears acceptable, but the horse has no self-carriage or suppleness and does not properly engage its hindquarters. It was this improper flexion that ruined the reputation of their inventor, Sir William Cavendish, 1st Duke of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. That being said, competent riders who correctly and tactfully use the draw and running reins can have success in correcting specific problems in horses that require retraining to get rid of bad habits. These are most often the riders who use the equipment the least, because they can achieve correct results through good riding instead of gadgets.

Totally wrong. There was a baggy spot around the fetlock and wrinkles as he said not to leave wrinkles.

Guess who's not buying those products when they get a horse. Me! Anyone can tell that horse is in pain from not only the bit, but the spurs that idiot is digging into his sides. You ain't from the old west. Learn to use what little thigh muscles you have to train that horse instead of taking the "easy" harmful approach to get him to do what you want. Using a halter with your reins never killed anyone. It takes stress off the horse and there's a lesser chance of the horse disobeying or bucking you off. Stupid humans.

faultroy So you can read a horse!! Horses learn to accept pain through the learning process of habituation, because a horse that shows pains becomes a prey. Conclusion: a horse that shows pain is extremly stressed and will give up to his destiny. If we are to use horses in sport, we owe it to them to train lightness and self carriage so that they do not have to endure inescapable pressure. There are plenty of videos on KZbin showing horse friendly riding, it’s up to you to detect the differnce......

A light/neautral color will show off better on a dark coated horse/pony, makes no sense to have black for example on an freisan, it just won't showup, white gives a more professional and cleaner appearance, a light coated horse/pony can have more fun experiemnting with deeper more intense colors.

It is recommended to have a light color or neutral color on a dark coated horse/pony, and light horse could have a darker more intense color like a deep blue or black. :D
