0:21 It's a bike lane! The symbol shows that it is a bicycle lane for both directions and the one inside is a sidewalk for pedestrians. The yellow cross apparently does not apply as the arrows and the bicycle symbol have been painted on top, so that is what applies. If there is no bicycle traffic on the track, cars may use it. 🚴🚶♀🚴♀🚶♂🚘🚲
@coryhisey843114 күн бұрын
Ach so, ja that makes more sense now, thanks!
@renedekker980612 күн бұрын
I would guess that as well. The yellow cross may be a remnant for when they where renovating the street, and temporarily closed the bike lane. It looks like renovation is still in process, with all the temporary signs and gates, and the yellow zebra. It's a bit weird with the lane divider still in place, though; it basically indicates that cars must drive on the bike lane, and only make way for bicycles when they come. Normally, roads like this would be painted as single lane road, without a lane divider. In that case, the cars would have to share the single lane, and only drive onto the bike lane when passing each other. The lane divider might be a remnant that will be removed in further renovations, though. It looks like it is older than the bike lane.

@@renedekker9806 Many smaller streets in both Germany and Holland had these solutions in the past, but gradually when they rebuild and renovate, some are changed to real more clear paths.

I do find that an interesting design for curb placement. You wonder if the design was always intended for possibly the reasons you mentioned or if it somehow evolved over a lane widening upgrade. I'm curious to see what the construction will change.
@coryhisey843115 күн бұрын
Yeah maybe it’ll show more clues after the construction starts. For weeks the signs have been up for no parking but haven’t seen any construction starting so, we’ll see 😅

I move around a lot but I really like seeing and experiencing living different places but I get worried I won’t find a place to settle down for good. I feel the world is so big and I want to live everywhere. But I don’t appreciate where I’m currently at until I leave.

This video needs a remake. There are times when it sounds like you talking to yourself and not the listener (4:30 to 4:50). At time point 4:50 your explanation needs a graphic showing two meshing involute gears. In the current version this section was to difficult to understand. I stopped listening at this point because I could not follow your explanation. I'm 65 and familiar with gears but I don't know a lot about them and wanted to learn more. I'm sure making videos is not easy, even teaching a subject can be a challenge.

I imagine the undercuts aren't designed to bear pressure from the meshing teeth. If so, why wouldn't the tooth tips simply be shortened to avoid the interference? I assume the tooth would only gain strength by following that approach.
@daliasprints97982 жыл бұрын
If you shorten the tip you lose part of the involute and thereby some of the engagement.

Hi, bro. I am a mechanical engineer. I applied for the mechatronics and cyber physical systems in DIT. For the aptitude test, they are asking informatics and control system technology. I didn't have those subjects in my bachelor's. Can you please say what are the topics that I should study to pass the above said subjects in the admission test?
@coryhisey84313 жыл бұрын
Hello, I didn't have to write an entrance exam so I don't know exactly what it entails. But for control systems topics like Laplace transform and Taylor series and make sure your calculus is up to date. For informatics I guess have a decent basic understanding of programming, functions and stuff.
