My experience is the opposite. I cruise at 26 kph on my Sprint X and around 20 on my Disc Trucker. The trike is a lot faster.
@OldFogeyLife20 күн бұрын
The ICE Sprint X is far faster than my scorpion with its 20" back wheel. I think my next trike will be ICE Sprint, I love the low seating position and definitely going with a 26” back wheel

The Surly Long Haul trucker seems to be the de facto standard for long distance cycling. The butterfly bars seem like a really good idea. I wonder if the newer Disc Trucker is as good. Lots of good information.
@OldFogeyLifeАй бұрын
Thank-you. I am considering getting a another trike with power assist for my next touring bike. I have toured on both the Surly and the HP Scorpion. The surly is faster and more nimble but the scorpion in more comfortable, and it is much easier to do long days on the bike and can carry more I discussed the difference in my Trike vs Bike video.

These seam to work the best for Laurie try a bunch of options. The aggressive MB pedals tend to hold feet firmly in place and she hasn't had any issues with her feet slipping off. She is not a aggressive ride .

I'm over 60 and thinking of getting an eTrike, though I don't see the purpose of getting an electric bike. The purpose of getting a bike or trike is to get exercise, I'll probably get the non-electric. Any advice on my decision?
@lauriedevere22876 ай бұрын
That depends on how limber you are. You don't need an electric if you're able to bike by yourself. It keeps you fit to keep on biking.

If getting in and out is a bit of a hassle that handles are needed, you might consider a Greenspeed Magnum- the seat being adjustable for angle and height makes for a very easy trike to enter/exit. My big wheel model makes no seat noises after 1500km use. I'm 54 and 117kg, no disabilities so have no issue standing unassisted from the lowest seat height. It can go 100mm (4") higher for those who need it. Solid trike with 160kg rider limit, so tough for loading up touring. I too fitted a basket on the rack- a chest freezer basket and zip tied a rabobank sports bag in it for shopping and to keep my phone secure, not to mention tools and spare batteries etc.
@lauriedevere49202 жыл бұрын
We both use the handles to attach things to, plus I use them to get on and off the bike because of my arthritis. Good for you for fitting the basket on it!
