VERY,VERY in informative . Thank you all for the actual live action of a rehearsed bear charge . Caleb was MOST impressive as he actually did the "side step" out of the high threat zone = and he did not hesitate. We Taught that at the police academy when I was an instructor , especially for a knife attack. Happy to see the G-20 did so well. I had my G-20 grip restructored to MUCH thinner so easier to grab & textured too. I am 77 this month,so not about to outrun ANYTHINg.

I'm used to seeing in a slow motion, but when you see it without slow motion, it gives a really good sense of the speed of an animal dashing at you

BEARS are RARE, here in the big city, but the terminal results from an attack are a hundred times more probable. Any practical input from you guys for an effective alternative to stopping the threat here in URBAN COWBOY TERRITORY? 🤠

For a long time, for hunting back up,I carryed Ruger SP-101 3" in 357 loaded with 158grs Hydra Shock ,and after one unexpected situation where I stuck under ugly winter conditions in the known bear and wolf Country, I changed to XDM 4,5" in 10mm AUTO loaded with hot loaded 180grs XTP and 190grs Sierra FJP ,and carrying aditional 3 magazines. There is never too much ammo... This kind of practice is crutial to survive. If only more people understand that knowledge is groundstone.

I live in Alaska and I fish all summer. I have seen brown bears from across the Russian River, but they were doing bear stuff. This summer I've seen more black bears then i have in over 20 years of living here. One notable trip I took the family to Whittier Alaska for some fishing and as we were getting geared up I saw a black bear come out of the woods. It was walking toward a group of tourists with small children and I'm the only one with a gun. I had a Glock 20 at the time on a leather chest rig from a company in Wasilla. I ran 20 yards though the parking lot and started to draw my weapon when the bear casually walked down the hill to the river. Run the gun you have on you at the time.

My semi autos have never jammed either, but I get three times the magazine capacity with my glock 20 over my old S&W .357 and a box of 10mm is about half the price, which means more training

For the length of the barrel on that Colt, it should lower and to the side slightly. Drawing from the same place as the 10mm makes zero sense!

You have got to be kidding me you're using a paper Knowing it's going to be charging at you this paper Target this is supposed to be anywhere near a real life situation or a bear crisis give me a f****** break what a joke you better I know this much you better have enough fire Power to do enough damage within the first one or two shots on your ass is dead this has got to be the silliest demonstration I've ever f*** Seen none of these individuals are serious or professionals or they wouldn't be doing this silly redundant dumbass demonstration

New story out of AK a few days ago about a guy saving his own life from a brown bear mauling him with a 10mm. Sounds like it was a1911 platform. Also sounds like his dad, who was a game warden, opened fire with a .40 as it was happening.

It's interesting but the captions with the specs are impossible to read (flash by quickly) and there's so much general rapid chat that the gun specs get lost in that too. Close up photos and full descriptions of each hand gun (before use) would be helpful. I guess that uploading to KZbin was an afterthought.

I can see each one of the guys literally trying to find the dot but then just say screw it and line the back of the firearm up with the Big target. Dots are amazing for competitions with various target switching and ranges but in the wild unless mounted on a longer rifle or long barrel revolver I think it is being wasted.@12:00 minute mark he didnt even have time to find the dot he literally pointed and shot which is his natural thought process and training shining through. The first guy spent half the time trying to find the dot and it was obvious. Im not harping on these guys, they are shoing us different guns and I appreciate it. I love a revolver but you cant go wrong with a striker fired 10mm, they are just faster at putting rounds on target. The long barrel revolvers are just too big and slow for the average guy. If I had to choose one gun for bears it would most likely be a full size Glock in 10mm with iron sights, that is just my preference. What do you all think would be your choice and setup. Red dot or iron sights.

One of the best tests I’ve seen. What was the final verdict on red dot versus iron sight if the sole purpose of the handgun is to be for bear defense?

For dangerous game protection the long barrel option is totally unecessary! Secondly "moving off the X" as these guys were doing is a waste of precious shooting time, because that griz can totally outmaneuver anyone! Use your time delivering accurate rounds then move after.....

In Bear country you're going to use a shorter barrel on a revolver. It's just quicker and easier to draw

When a bear runs at you his head doesn't stay in one position it moves up & down like waves and they stand when gets as close to the bite range also inspite of their size they move quieter then smaller animals in the woods. (If anyone has real life encounter was it similar to me?)

Obviously depending on the length of the barrel you're going to adjust your holster for the fastest draw. Or maybe a different holster to match the style of gun you're shooting. You should train for up close and hope for more distance.

He said he was cocking the revolver ?? WHY !? Learn the double action. It is one thing to shoot andttacking animal ...But if its a self defense cituation, and you automatically cock , It is way to easy to have an accident on single action. No reason ,especially when speed is needed.
