How do you clean the metal buildup in the diamond file grit so the packed in metal build up does not reduce the efficiency and possibly scratch the frets?

I can't believe this video is 8 years old. I'm in my third year as a jeweler and I'm just finding out how they're called. I must've searched for these bad boys for a whole year on Google to finally find out it's silicone and rubber burrs. Thanks for the video...8 years later. Cheers

Hello Dave, I hope this message finds you well. I have a silly question for ya! What are you using there to clean off the corrosion on your hammer? I recently ordered my first bench block from a reputable company and it looked beautifully polished at first but it soon developed some parts of corrosion and even seems like there are little holes in the metal.Could you please advice if I should return the block or if there is another way....Thank you kindly.

Very helpful video! I'm looking to clean up some Chasseur Escoffier copper pots that I've had for years. Can you help me to choose the right compound and buffer? The short story is that I accidentally burnt one of the pots by putting on some water to boil a few eggs, then lay down on the sofa and fell asleep (of course!!)... Woke up the next day to find the pot still on the stove and completely black!! Thankfully the pot seems structurally OK-no warping! I've got a fair way in restoring it using Bar Keeper's Friend, a lot of elbow grease, and time. But there are still a lot of black fleck marks on it still and the copper has dulled a lot. I'm looking to purchase a bench polishing wheel to fix this one up.... and, of course, keep it to touch up the pots to a beautiful shine every year or two. If you have any suggestions on what combination of wheel and compound would most suit the job, I'd appreciate it if you could let me know!

And they say having a snooze is good for you! (not for your copper pots though) Yes, if you use a little Yellow Dialux on a felt bob, disc, mop or wheel in a hobby rotary tool this will clean the copper up nicely and bring it back to a shine.www.eternaltools.com/dialux-polishing-compound Drop us a line at Eternal Tools www.eternaltools.com/contact-us if you'd like to chat more about this. Thanks Katie!

So I am just getting into polishing my own jewelry because I want that shine from my silver chains back, what would you suggest, the white? Or the yellow? And what bits am I looking for when it comes to the dremel
@Eternaltools
@Eternaltools 8 ай бұрын
Yellow for pre-polish and white for final polish. However, if you want to clean all the intricate inbetween bits of your silvr chain you'd be best to use a radial disc polisher, something such as 3M radial discs: www.eternaltools.com/3m-radial-bristle-polishing-discs or the EVE radial discs, specifically designed for gold and silver: www.eternaltools.com/eveflex-radial-pumice-twist-polishing-discs

Thank you so much for your video! For someone who gets overexcited about new tools and really struggles with instructions - especially written ones! - (probably due to my ADHD and impatience), I can wholeheartedly testify that this was one the most useful videos I’ve seen on new tools! I got it for craft work and jewellery, so it’s extra awesome that you use it for jewellery too! I can’t wait to dig in :) signed up to your channel as I want to maximise the use of all my Frenkel tools :)

A dense foam sanding block, the type found in a DIY store which you wrap sandpaper round. They're good for drilling as they have a bit of 'give'.

@Eternaltools
@Eternaltools Жыл бұрын
To polish glass you will need to use diamond based products. We highly recommend using diamond paste on a felt bob or wheel in a rotary tool (there's further usage tips on our product page): www.eternaltools.com/diamond-polishing-paste (Dialux will not work, they are only for metals and acrylics) Good luck with the project

What is the indicator that it’s time to swap them out? I loved mine at first, but they “seem” a little less effective now. Could be my imagination. I’m noticing hairline scratches even after working all 6 ending with green. Could they have microscopic silver partials embedded in them? Is there a way to clean them? Thanks for the wonderful video!
@Eternaltools
@Eternaltools Жыл бұрын
The bristles will shorten as they are wearing down but ultimately if they are less effective than they once were you should swap them out. 3M are discontinuing these so if you would like to try something similar try the EVE range of radial disc polishers: www.eternaltools.com/eveflex-twist-radial-polishing-discs
