Langley did research, and flew the first heavier than air powered aircraft in the 1890s. Prior to that, many flew gliders that were necessary to develop the technology. The Wrights stole ideas from everyone, from Langley, to Montgomery in California, etc., and then tried to use those ideas in US Government patents. After receiving those patents, the Wright flyer was never advanced until 1915. Meanwhile, the French took aviation forward, along with the British and Russian Empire. So, what did the Wrights do? They had one success, and then stopped innovating.

if dividend yield not change, and stock price change, the dividend will change? for example, 1 share of 100$ per share stock, dividend yield 10% is 10$, and 1 share drop to 50$ per share today , with same 10% dividend yield is 5$ per share, therefore the dividend is change from 10$ share to 5$ per share. normally company give fixed dividend yield , and the dividend give per share will change with price of stock? if company give dividend per share fixed, the stock price will not impact your income

Absolutely FREAKING FASCINATED that 519 people saw this and ONLY 2 people liked it. Id love to see what the 517 people who dismissed this: 1. Looked like and 2. How they performed. 99.999% of the population just worsen by making poor choices. Fred is the exception and he is trying to reach people who will listen . Most wont and Nature does its job in removing them from the gene pool. Its the way it has always been and always will be.

Do you loose your share if the stock drops? Or? I was concerned due to the current stock market drop that it would make me lose my shares.
@OffGridInvestor2 жыл бұрын
When times get real bad the company either lowers what it pays or just outright stops "until further notice". Unless the company goes bankrupt and stops trading, you don't LOSE your shares. You MIGHT get them converted to an entirely different share if they get bought out by another company, sometimes if it turns private like Elon was trying to do with twitter, you'll get bought out. But there's board meetings and shareholder votes (for those with like 100+ shares) that will decide that. Sometimes if they're about to go bankrupt but a competitor thinks they can turn it around, they might buy them up which means things will change but at least you don't lose your shares entirely because they didn't go bankrupt completely. An odd example was the GM bailouts where the government became majority shareholder until it was restructured to be viable.

Also when the price drops from $10 to $5, its not just from 3% to 6% yield, as you can actually buy 2 shares for $5 instead of 1 shares at $10.

I don’t believe Trump is our business partner, or that his tax plan will help our economy. There was plenty of evidence of a strong economy before he took office, which was in full swing and was going to continue to gain steam with or without him, although he takes credit for it, as he does for many other things which he has nothing to do with. The ballooning of the deficit that will be caused under this tax plan will eventually lead to another crisis, a crisis like we faced in 2008 when we fortunately had the leadership to a avoid a disaster. The tax plan has benefited a minuscule minority of the population, who were already very wealthy. Trump has thrown a bone to the rest of us, with a small amount of cash and some instant gratification. Additionally, cutting regulations that affect the quality of air we breathe and the water we drink is not a good idea for either our health or the economy. And while Trump helps the rich to get richer and alienates our trading partners around the world through bad and impulsive policy, China is making some very smart moves and inroads all over the world - including in our own hemisphere, South America. We are losing our place. They say you are who you associate with. Trump is not my business partner, and rather than renegotiating with him, I think we should find a leader who knows enough not to continuously lie to the American public.
