I was in Montagu back in 1994, being young (26), with all my friends, we skipped the cultural town visit, as you do at that age and we all headed up to the hot springs and the pubs and I pranced around in my budgie smuggler (black speedo) 🤭, next time I come over from the freezing UK, I will chuck out the speedo and do the restaurants and museum visits. Looks more my scene these days! 😂 Love your posts 🤗Keep them coming 👍

Dutchies on Grotto Beach, loads of parking, is a have to go to amazing place. Beach walk, then coffee and food. Our go to for breakfast and quite a few evening meals when we are there.

Carolyn from the Ibis Gallery hand raises the Ibis and other birds that often end up orphaned. You will see arrogant adult birds striding across to her place from Leiwater, awaiting food, these are x orphans, that don't see why, just because they are adult, the food bar shouldn't still serve them.

That fruit that Cindy picked up is from the Sausage Tree. Many of them grow in the Kruger Park as well.

Wow thanks so much for telling us, we had no idea! 😊
@MidlifeTravelTalesКүн бұрын
Can you eat it?
@jackiealbasini540922 сағат бұрын
@@MidlifeTravelTales no, it is poisonous to humans, but monkeys, baboons and elephants are able to eat it. It is an extremely hard and heavy pulpy fruit with lots of seeds. Just don't stand or park your car under a tree 😮it falls like a brick from above. 🤣
@MidlifeTravelTales17 сағат бұрын
Thanks for the info 👍😊. Definitely won't park under one they are really heavy 👌

I'm so sad you did not show us the old Joubert "Stamvaders". I would love to see how my ancestors had looked like. Three brothers came with the French Hugenots and the one stayed behind in Montagu, the other two left, one to settle in the Eastern Cape, around Burgersdorp Next to the Orange river, that is my ancient ancestor and the other one moved further with the Great Trek to Ermelo, or the old Eastern Transvaal. Piet Joubert who served in the Anglo Boer war came from the Ermelo ancestor, if I'm correct.

Thanks for sharing. You would have flown into Dalaman, not Antalya. Antalya is over 3 hours to Fethiye. Oh the cats are just awesome in Turkey. I wouldnt touch stray cats in Asia, but as you said they are so well looked after. Our hotel in Istanbul i had a cat that sat on a chair beside me and i shared my breakfast with him everyday. He got more than me lol I would never let my own cat sit at the table while i ate, but i couldnt help it lol Same. We never felt unsafe either. Oh yes the smoking culture. Dont go to Greece its even worse lol Like SA, Australia we cant smoke hardly anywhere. Shame you didnt get to Capadoccia. Totally amazing. We loved our time there. Cant wait for our trip back to Turkey next year. Just wish it didnt take us Aussies a day to get there.

Doing a 2 week road trip from Izmir to Antalya after 2 weeks in Greece next August Been to Turkey before but not along Turkish Riveria. Thanks for sharing Stellenbosch.
