Super interesting interview. And Sensei Benny is a true gentleman in addition to being a great fighter and martial artist 🙏🙇♂️

People always ask Benny about him and Jackie's fight in Wheels on Meals and every single time he tells the story he's just so proud and grateful. Don't get me wrong, I would ask him about it too.

I don't like the interviewer.

Well, that’s too bad because it’s her show, she’s the producer and owns the copyright. She’s also a friend of Benny The Jet and that’s how she got the interview. I am she.

I don't know the interviewer personally, so I shouldn't say I don't like the interviewer. I guess I just don't like the way she interviews people.

@@debgib007 what would you prefer? Someone like Geraldo Rivera or Oprah Winfrey? I’m not a pro, this is just my own show. It’s aired on Comcast in the central valley of California. Benny didn’t seem to mind the interview. There was a time when Oprah was a beginner, and probably wasn’t nearly as dynamic as she is today. Everyone has to start somewhere.
@debgib0075 ай бұрын
Definitely wouldn't prefer Oprah Winfrey, she's obnoxious, and has an Agenda. I was really enjoying the interview, until I wasn't. He was in the middle of a good story, and then suddenly you said thank you bye. But thanks for the effort, maybe next time let the Star dictate when he wants to quit.

There was rumours on the set and it was confirmed by Keith Vitali that Benny was a bit pissed off when Jackie hit him for real in the face. They had to do it take after take as Sammo loves the realism. What impressed me is that all these years later, Benny never talks about him being pissed about it. Just always gracious and how he had such a good time during the shoot. Benny is the real deal.

This, is the kind of common sense, timeless self-defense teaching that every martial artist, and non martial artist, needs, to begin to understand the nature of criminal violence, and the reality that combat is feral, and not fancy and fun to watch like an action movie battle! Kudos to Don and to you, for this excellent lesson, and for sharing it with the world!

That’s why I took up Martial arts in the first place-Just to learn self-defense techniques-Not to chase belts or to chase black belt guys, as some women do when they sign up at a Martial arts school.

Sensei Benny is and was the nicest guy yet also the fiercest fighter. One of the characters in my book is loosely as an homage to him regarding those two traits. 🙂 He's kind, fun, upbeat, and appreciative... but you'd NOT want to make him angry. 🐲✨🐲✨🐲✨

If that fight were real, it would have been over quickly and Chan would have ended up in the emergency room or the morgue. All fighters are martial artists but not all martial artists are fighters. Benny is a battle tested warrior who fought everyone in the game. Chan is simply an untested martial arts guy. Two very different animals...

Watch, i think, episode 19 of Adkins' podcast, The Art of Action. It features Benny talking about his time with Jackie and includes Wheels on Meals and Dragons Forever. It appears that Jackie left a hugely positive impression on Benny, who sings his praises.
