The understandable backlash over their stage act and appearance (certainly in the US) had the unfortunate effect of hiding the fact that at their best, the Rollers released some great commercial pop sides in the '70s and '80s that match nearly anything from the period...this among their best

This video was recorded right before Tam decided Alan was too old for the Rollers. The Rollers look completely different in this video. They were maturing naturally into the Pop/Rock band they wanted to be. Gone are the short pants, striped socks, and almost no tartan. Replaced with leather, and smart stage outfits. Les is bare chested and confident. They look like a rock band. Wouldn't You Like It (UK) / Rock and Roll Love Letter (USA) was almost entirely written by Eric and Wood themselves and it sounded different than Rollin' and Once Upon A Star in a good way...it rocked. But all Tam could see was the $. Who knows what would have happened if Alan had stayed, and the band had a chance to mature the way they wanted to. I am sure it did not include a kiddie TV show with puppets.

I just love this song; what a great song it is. Some great singers, you listen to them and think, "Don't they sound like this one or that one." But Les McKeown is in a league of his own. And the vocal harmonies of the Rollers are just heaven to listen to. I love the musicality of this song and have just played and listened to it for the one millionth time.

This was the song that got me hooked on the Rollers. It was very cool indeed when I was 15 and I still love it now.

Ian is so cute. When I was a teenager,I saw him in his concerts. (Rosetta Stone, Ian Mitchell band.) Of course, BCR too. I still like tartan clothes.

I agree. I just watched this video 5 times straight. I love watching Eric go into the audience. Only wish I was one of the lucky girls that were able to touch him, and yes 3:00 to 3:10 is the best 10 seconds of the video!

I love this video. You did an awesome job! I was wondering where you the clips the black, and white video of Les walking from a house, and jumps over a fence, and the one where he comes up to the camra laughing, and says hi,and the one where he sticks his tonge out. Can I find those clips on a video or dvd?I would love to own them.I;d watch them over, and over again I love him he is such a babe....:D

I can see why young teenagers spend so much time on the computer. In my day you had posters on the wall and teen mags and you laid on your bed and stared at the posters day dreaming. I can't imagine what it would have been like to have instant access to your heart throbs. My heart flutters every time I see Eric from 3:00 to 3:10. I have rewound it oh so many times. Oh the memories.

I would have pounced Eric too if I had been there : ). In fact, I probably would have handcuffed myself to him and threw the key away........into the crowd and see them try and find it !! LOL!!
