I was born in October 2001, so I only watched reruns. I have a very faded memory of watching him when I was very young. Sadly, The memory of him is so faded that I can’t remember one lesson that I learned from him or recall one moment when he made me feel special. Someone mentioned him in a Facebook comment yesterday, and I have been searching him and watching some of the episodes ever since. I can see that he was truly a genuine man and kind soul, and I wish I would have appreciated this amazing man more when I was small. I now feel deeply sad that he is no longer here. I severely under appreciated him, but when I have kids, I will show them this amazing man and his show and teach them to appreciate him

Lovely woman who really devoted her life to children. She cared about what they thought of her iconic portrayal of the witch that she came on the show to clear things up: she was just playing dress up. She was too pure 🥰 Behind the scenes of the wizard of oz, she was ironically kind to Judy garland. In fact, she cared more about her than most of the people in her life.

With them against that background, and the lighting, at first they looked like paper cutout dressup dolls! Just fantastic!

I watched both as a tot in the early 70's. I loved Mr. Rogers show, he was great. Captain Kangaroo had a lot of things that made them different, one being an hour long show.
