We had a lot of fun with this, a little frustrating at times, but that's par for the course, and a good laugh most of the time.

There's a feeling of copyright infringement here, that's for sure.

I think it plays a lot like this on all formats. Old game, 2010, the horse steers like a tank, the character movement in the third person cover shooter sections is quite archaic and clunky, etc.

We found a few of the bosses, especially the last one, very tricky on normal difficulty. Well done on beating it on hard.

Still love the GameBoy version the best. Simple, with no stupid mechanics added.

Didn't play that one, but there is the same kind of kinetic fun involved that's for sure.

@@AngryCalvin Yeah, the thing that stops this from being anything toward a good game is the awkwardness of the controls. Then again in 2-player competitive, I suppose it could be fun racing to the numbers.

Shame all the players are, too. 😂 No-one playing online.

@@zockeromi1970 oh, nice. It really is another of those really good modern retro games that Flynn’s Arcade likes to publish. They sure are on a roll picking quality titles like this. I’m terrible at it though, 😂

@@silverwolf2887 Just cutscene after cutscene, it felt very difficult to get into the game, you just get going and another weird little cutscene introducing an enemy you’ve already fought. Weird game, didn’t enjoy the demo.

@@oldnintendogamerandson yes this is true (Montana is better it’s a red state) they are 2 of the coldest states. Was wales ever super cold ? Is Taiwan tropical ?

@@Cloudwizrd Growng up, Wales did get cold in the winter, it would mostly snow every year, but I mean -10 degrees C at worst. Not like Canadian cold, 😂. And, yeah Taiwan straddles the Tropic of Cancer, so pretty much stays hot all year round, except for January which can get relatively cold, where we have to wear a sweater, not just T-shirts, 😀 . No central heating in the houses here, not needed.

@@Cloudwizrd I personally love Picross games, especially the Jupiter made ones. The feeling of slowly and logically working toward the answer, and as this was the first of the Jupiter Picross games, I had to check it out. Yeah, it’s missing all the quality of life improvements that occurred over the years, but it’s interesting to see how it all started. I don’t mind trying out the non-English games, either, as we’re living in a non-English speaking country, 😊.

Haha, love this type of game. My fear is that I'd spend too much time on it. Got to put it down for something else.

@@Cloudwizrd Nothing much, playing games with my brothers meant just doing it, dying, doing it again. Never felt much frustration playing games back in the 80s. I get more frustrated playing games now due to old man reactions, and less time to play, so feel lots of games do waste your time with unnecessary faff, 😂

@@Cloudwizrd We could never afford NES games, so we only had a few games that we played on hard rotation. The NES was gifted to us with Mario & Duck Hunt. Then the SNES was our first Nintendo console, but same problem only a handful of games, and just the usual candidates, Street Fighter II, Super Mario Kart, not much else. I always remember passing the wonderful game boxes in Woolworths and hoping I'd have a few one day. Other than Nintendo stuff, the C64 was a cassette tape based system, so all the local community would copy each others games, 😂. Inevitably, that got a lot more play time thanks to the quantity and variety of games on offer. How was your childhood?

@@thechickenboyshow7229 I never played much Sonic in the past, but playing them recently I found that he is really heavy to move, with delayed input lag in every game. Amazing what we put up with back then.

@@oldnintendogamerandson maybe bad emulator? sonic can be a bit slow to start moving in the classics but there's very little imput delay

@@Cloudwizrd wow, that’s a long time YouTubing, never thought I’d become a KZbinr myself back then. But, I’m weird. I rarely have time to watch KZbin, between work, family and making KZbin content for ourselves. So, it’s only the occasional Nintendo trailer. So, what I find interesting is that our channel is purely what I think a KZbin channel should be like, with no input into how others do it. We use old school principles of editing and apply them here. I hope what we do is unique, but I literally have no reference points to compare, and won’t, 😜, otherwise I feel like we’re stealing others’ ideas.p for how they do it.

@@oldnintendogamerandson I get ya . But his name is kind of synonymous with retro gaming. He’s the granddaddy of retro gaming content I guess… but his main purpose of his channel is just to convey how difficult and time-consuming these old games were, how relentless they were.. he just revisits a simpler time back when you can blow into a cartridge and pop it into a console . He’s actually released two video games on the switch.
