There is no more bald spot because there is no more top 😉 fixing a bald spot is an option but sometimes it’s not worth investing the money in hand ventilating the area (it can get super pricey) and instead repurpose the wig for something that would be more useful. To some, a hat fall is the best thing ever bc it’s so lightweight under a hat. But yes, you are right. You can not remove the hat without someone seeing an empty net. It’s not an option for everyone.

Hi! The wig in this video was an older wig that developed bald spots. A bald spot in the top of the wig is usually the result of improper care if issues from manufacturing have been ruled out. Something is making the hair come out especially if it’s localized to one section. I’ve had customers who had bald spots in areas where they used Bobby pins or where they put sunglasses on top of their head, or the place they may constantly touch to adjust their wig while wearing. If a wig is brand new, it should not have bald spots. If you notice it after you’ve had it for a bit, I would contact the wig store to have them assess it and try to figure out the cause.

Very interesting! Thanks for sharing. For someone who has their own bio hair underneath the wig, the Velcro sticks nicely to the bio hair keeping the grip in place so well. But for someone who does not have bio hair underneath, I can see how having the silicone against the scalp might actually be preferable and the Velcro would grab on to the actual wig. Yes, I use this on synthetic wigs as a leave in conditioner after washing the wig as I brush it into a style. It can also be used to detangle a longer synthetic piece. It won’t absorb into the hair the same way, but it should still help to loosen any tangling making it easier to smooth out the wig.

Many of my clients actually do! It’s something people usually have handy in the house so it seems like a no brainer. Aside from the obvious issue you can see here-the wig actually slides around in the box which is why a specific round zippered travel case is ideal not only for security but to maintain the wig shape.

Not always but I may have used the word interchangeably here in this video and was referring to a band fall. There are many types of “falls” such as a bandfall, hat fall, u fall, kippa fall…to name a few 😝

It depends how the lace is finished off in front. If there is an extra little bit of empty lace by your hairline, you won’t be able to blend it together because the hair you will be trying to blend will show through under that empty lace area. (There are ways to “close” the lace which helps make blending your own hair possible, but this is something you’d have to get done professionally.) If it’s completely finished with hair-you can definitely blend it together!

Just a side note-there are other possibilities available to you to have your wig sit a bit better on your head and to avoid this “riding up” feeling such as opening up the elastic sections so they don’t gather and cause the net to want to ride up more as well as sewing a long comb at the bottom of the wig to help anchor it down if you have some hair of your own underneath that the comb can anchor into.

The wig in this video is about 6 years old and the company is not the same as when I bought mine pictured here. Some of my other videos I am wearing wigs from @irenewigs and @cosmopolitanwigs

The texture doesn’t have to be exact, but if the wig is very sleek and straight and your own hair is the opposite, it won’t blend together very well. There are things you can do to your own hair to “trame it” and help with a more seamless transition.

It is important for the wig and your own hair to match up as close as possible in the area where you are trying to blend the two together.

The most common way to lighten up a darker wig is by adding highlights (which essentially is bleaching the darker colors and making it lighter). I would not recommend to do this to the entire wig-only to small sections of the hair throughout to give an overall lightening effect. Coloring the dark hair will not lighten it. Sometimes if a wig was dyed too dark you can use a mixture of baking soda, clarifying shampoo, and hot water to help remove the darkeness.
