Seen one of these in action the birds nest happens when it hits the water the breaks kick in and the spool unravels by itself as it sinks to the bottom first time i saw it my pants got tight

How that particular rod didn't snap defies logic. Wouldn't of thought you would still have it in one piece. Not too many off the shelf rods cut it when it comes to hard core technique such as that.

what was the weight of the sinker he was using to cast out that far?
@BasicFishingNZ10 жыл бұрын
where are those sinkers available as in stores and stuff? it was hard enough to find the rig and bait clip for a pulley rig
@BasicFishingNZ10 жыл бұрын
nice.... i've always though u had to go out on a boat to catch Blue Cod.
@Liam-se2ok5 жыл бұрын
Basic_Fishing doubt it's a blue cod. Red cod 😭

The rig used here is a pulley rig which keeps everything tensioned until it releases on impact

what reel did you use? what lb line? and were you running a shock leader or just a direct tie with maybe a bimmini? i compete in comps and one of em is casting if you had of thrown that with no shock leader just a direct tie to main line here in South Ausralia you would have the state record. which is currently 177meters with 112 grams or 4oz..

what happens to the "birds nest" of line on the spool after you cast?
