It was a great deck for us budget audiophiles. Mine is in the closet, but I believe it still works. Nice to see one in action playing great music.

Damn! I have the same exact setup. My dad and I bought "The AR Truntable" with the Shure V15 V-MR cartridge back in the early 80s. We split the cost and decided to house them in my dad's place since he had the far superior stereo setup (NAD amps, a Harman Kardon pre-amp, Wharfedale speakers, etc.). All things HiFi was something that my dad I always bonded over. When my dad passed away, I inherited his entire stereo setup and was finally able to get everything back up and running and the AR turntable is the jewel in my setup. Not only does it bring back memories with my dad, but it sounds just as pristine as did back in the day. Ok, now I have to go and listen to some Art Blakey on my AR.

Your Advents sound very good. I've been an Advent fan for some time now. I own the Advent/3, 3002, 4002, 5002 & 5012. IMO. Advents sound neutral and colorless! so much so, you can distinguish which receivers or amps you're using. Additionally, they play all types of music well!! Are there better speakers? Yes! However, you can't go wrong with the original Henry Kloss Advents!! The Advents sound signature contain Deep tight bass, good midrange and highs. You get all this from a two driver (Tweeter/Woofer) loudspeaker system! If you want true standard analog stereo HiFi and you're an audiophile beginner while currently on a budget, purchase the Advents! BTW, Audiophile beginners, listen to a live orchestra, concert or any other live music entertainment then hook up your Advents to your audio system then compare the sound on recordings. Advents sound well OUTSIDE the 😊backyard too!!

Correction, I was thinking of a different unit. I believe this unit did not have the phono stage. It looks like I was using a streaming service. Most likely Spotify. I was thinking of the PV2ar unit I have.

@@YesterYearAudio Thank you for the information. So at the end of the vinyl the needle keeps spinning in contact with the vinyl? I know that the device would be manual, but I thought that the TT would lift the needle at the end, without moving the arm.
