Her bike has GP valving... is that like the "Gold Valves"?
@Big.mama.factory5 күн бұрын
Her bike uses stock WP pistons with a slight modification and different shim stack on the mid speed valve, rebound, and compression. Her shock has a bladder instead of a piston with revalves compression, rebound, and comp adjuster shims.

Does anyone know if the top bushing on the shock is the same size over the years? I've had my Stark Varg for a few weeks now and there's a bit of play there. Just going to order one on Amazon if so, because i'll get it overnight instead of 2 weeks.

Terry has done about 4 sets of forks for me so far as well as shocks and I have to say I am very happy with the tuning that TBT uses. I have talked with him in depth about my racing, riding style and ability and he has set me up with some of the best handling suspensions for the techi rocky single tract stuff out there. I have been able to increase my times on timed enduro loops I use. I am going to chase the 60A AMRA state title next year here in AZ so at this age, I will need the absolute best suspension I can get to get me through the year.

I’d like to learn a lot more about revving. I already do Shock Rebuilds for for a small off-road shop. I would like to take it the next step.
Terry brought my WP's with Dal Soggio inserts to that class. I just got them back but have not put them on the bike yet. He has done very nice work on my XPlor's and another set WP's I have with the KYB SSS conversions in them. With those, I have been able to lower my training times on my enduro loops I practice on. I plan on chasing the 60A title here in Arizona with the AMRA series next year and will only be running forks and shocks done by Terry at this point.

Thank you for a comprehensive and simple to follow video. I have a question on the rod when I fill with fluid and screw the cap I noticed fluid is leaking from the bottom and increases when i compress the rod, and losing the pressure what is the problem?

Does the KYB shock not require a vacuum pump to extract air from the oil reservoir like the WP shocks?

I do not want to sound clever but this is not a damper rebuld! It is a damperoil change or a simple service! What about checking the damperhead oil seal and bearing whatabout checking the shims for cracks? When i do dampers i check the length of the spring and the settings giving the damper back with the same settings as i got it. You do not fill some air/nitrogen in the bladder when you fill the oil? You look very professional thue.

Very helpful video. I've got a '05 YZ125 (crappy KYB AOSS forks) so I got on ebay and bought some '09 YZ250F SSS forks. Just showed up yesterday so I started the rebuild, and unfortunately for me, the free piston is already busted on one of the legs. Was going to drill them out to prevent it, but oh well. Ordered some Zeta aluminum free pistons.

Can anyone comment on what to do when the dampening rod adjuster nut is out of spec when it's seated at the end of the threads? The manual calls for .5 to 1mm of space between the adjuster nut and the rebound adjuster piece before tightening. I have about 2mm or more. So, do I shim the adjuster inside with a washer, or is it ok to have the adjuster nut a thread or so up from the end of the threads to bring it into spec? Any help is appreciated! Great video!
@cbh1482 жыл бұрын
Your comment is 3 months old as of me writing this -- How did yours perform? Just finished rebuilding mine minutes ago, and the gap between the rebound adjuster and the lock nut was 1.95mm on one of mine and 2.24mm on the other (before tightening the lock nut up into the adjuster). Both were finger tight as far as they would go. Manual makes it out like it's important, but I just moved past it since I figure maybe the point they were trying to get across, generally speaking, was to make certain that the adjuster was all the way onto the rod and to then hold that position by tightening the lock nut into it.

To make the process of opening up the air box super easy use a little oscillating saw with any trim blade on it. It literally cuts the air box like a hot knife through butter. It takes less than a minute to precisely cut along the entire line. If you don’t have one, they are $15 or so at Harbor Freight. I have a cordless DeWalt and it was oh so much easier and takes less time than it would to trace along the line with a marker.

Hi everyone. I watched this video and I have a question for it. Since I don't understand much English, I need advice on why it's drilling holes in the valve(6:40min) and where will the hole be down or up?
