Today I found a Highwoods String Band CD in my collection. No idea where it came from, and I don’t recall listening to it. So I looked them up on KZbin and watched this trailer. Then I found the entire movie free on Folkstreams using search. Great fun! Wow! What a band! Watch it, folks! I play in a number of jams, so it’s opened my eyes to ways to play.

I like the original coal furnace from 1910 in the basement. By the time this was filmed most of them had been removed or had a retrofit gun style oil burner conversion done. These old guys worked in thier basements alot instead of their garage to work where there was heat in the winter. Very common. What was not common yet was to spend on a fancy heated pole barn.

We used to sing it like this, domino domino dominoes ah biscuit domino domino dominoes ah biscuit down down baby Down by the rollorcoaster Sweet sweet baby Mama never lets you go Shimmy shimmy cocoa puffs Shimmy shimmy wow Shimmy shimmy cocoa puffs Shimmy shimmy break it down So I think we replaced the word pizza with dominoes? I have no idea, I randomly started singing this to my daughter and had to search online, but couldn’t find any references? We used to do a dance too, which was like banging your fist one on top of the other like your pounding dough and when you say “ah biscuit” you stick your thumbs out like the fonz and do a little shake! Fun times
