@@AlexBumgarner89 I appreciate it thanks!🙏🙏 this was too long ago, I should be able to do better now. I was practicing this a lot back then but still lacked an understanding of phrasing and good tone production. My fingers moved well though😅. Maybe will relearn sometime and try recording again

​@@IvanGueorguievI totally get that. It's like you can always do better and better but sometimes it's good to give a piece a break. I think a lot of top tier pianists do that. Where they learn a piece, know it's not ready for others to hear or in concert. You're just more brave in a sense to not be afraid to show vulnerabilities. It's also an incredibly difficult piece. I'm shocked at how much repertoire you have under your belt now. You really stuck with it! I hope learning new music and the whole process is much easier for you now!

Heyyy! Thanks Matt, I wonder if you have any tips for this one. I know some of the notes didn’t come out as clear and some evenness was missing, like I could still get a better sound quality and more controlled touch. But my fingers were moving at least lol

The main thing that caught the attention of my ears was that the counterpoint in this piece could be made a bit more obvious, it's really a huge nod towards Bach, and right now it's sounding a bit vertical (harmonic rather than voice leading). there are so many rare gems in this movement where you can look to bring out different voices on the repetition of the themes, could help to bring more interest and tie the piece together more tightly.

@@maddorox thanks man appreciate that! I thought I was listening to the voices since I am aware of them. But I will experiment more with bringing out at different moments. It’s tricky because the fast tempo makes it harder to shape lol. But good pointing that out🙏

Thanks Dennis! I definitely don’t practice as much as I used to. Need to upload some too😅 I’ve been gone for a while. I think I have the same issue with mistakes. I hate uploading unless it’s perfect or close to perfect. But I realize it’s not gonna ever be perfect in terms of every note coming out right, especially every phrase to be shaped musically and make the tone of the piece be heard, but if you can be satisfied with a decent performance it’s still worthy of putting it up.

Really hoping to get back to it! I have good feeling you will do really well as concert pianist and someday as teacher !
