Every time I see a new Malofeev performance I think of my first impression of this sensational artist when I saw him play the Rachmaninoff 2nd: See what God can do when He really tries?

It exposes the lunacy of war with Russia. Zelinsky would have us kill this guy with long range weapons. We are always told the same story by politicians that we are good and the other side bad. It is done so arms manufacturers can profit by bloodshed of the innocent. Politicians strut about like Demi gods proclaiming their outrage at so called infringements of our space. We are kept deprived by them , injured by them and then told to fight for their daft ideas.

As beautiful as it's played, he was up against the Brahms' second piano concerto in that final. So, tough task...Not the same technical and artistically requirements neither the same level of profound emotional input by the composers and the interpreters.

@Orfik712 күн бұрын

It baffles me no end WHY the West thinks so badly of Russia when history's finest symphonic composers and compositions arose from its rich tapestry of people's. Indeed, talents such as Alexander Malofeev proves such greatness. Other nations have shown such creativity but fall significantly short of Russian composers. A country's music is its soul and Russia has soul which is unparalleled!
@bboyo830711 күн бұрын
There are literally two reasons, and both of them connect to one superior reason. They envy russia for its scale and its enormous potential for the goods over the earth and bling blings underneath the earth and co. Second the biggest fear of the usa was an alliance between germany and russia - "was" because they already did all they could do to avoid and secure it. The main reason is the coin.
@maxthecherryman8 күн бұрын
Love Rachmaninoff, Tschkovski and balilika music as much as the next person. You pose a complex question that has no simple answer. Perhaps it's because the Russian NKVD murdered around 22000 Polish officers in the Kaytn forest or possibly because Stalin had between 5 and 6 Million of his own citizens murdered ( We won't mention the 300,000+ German POW's ) Could be that a recent invasion of a sovereign European nation might just be a factor. Or maybe the recent Wagner incursions into Africa supposedly fighting ISIS but in fact working alongside ISIS, could be a winner in the race of the day. The Evil Intent Handicap. The current servile Russian populations almost sycophantic support of someone who wasn't hugged as a child? Hard to say why people think badly of Russia. "Fall short of Russian composers. " Beautifully put. Those amateurs like Beethoven, Chopin, Bach, Mozart, Tallis, Dvorak and Mendelson. Even the "new kids " Barry, Williamson, Shore, Sondheim, Doyle or Glass from the decadent West! The lot of them. Know nothing of composition.

@@maxthecherryman America is the same. You can find evil plans in every big country, especially the main ones. Their governments are trying to take over the world economy and to obtain power in smaller countries. Don't forget Vietnam, Irak, the bombing of Serbia et cetera. And do you no, that African people hate France, because of what it did to their economy and their lives? The American and European governments tries to show, that it wants freedom and democracy in other countries, but all they do is protect their own interests to be rich and powerful.

Superlative performance! Alexander's hair is wild but his hands seem possessed!! There are a couple of times when he is looking at the conductor and not at the piano, but his fingers just keep going, totally faultlessly! Just look how he smiles and enjoys the crescendo chords of the 'romantic bit'! I have not seen/heard this fabulous composition for a long while, but I did remember how the whole piece just ends in a sudden and abrupt whimper. Half of the audience did not seem to be aware that this was going to happen though - and their rapturous applause came with a distinct reaction delay!
